It cracks me up when I hear people talk about Fontana being a "Parking Lot". Well, it is a parking lot where I have gone as fast as 156 mph, and the Viper that I help with, has gone 6.37@220+ mph. The place isn't all that bad. I think the folks that are complaining, need to look at their cars, and get them figured out. It's always real easy to blame the track.....

I think Sam Robinson already mentioned this event. In another thread. Of course you guys were trashing Fontana, so he may not come around to elaborate........
I am guilty of voicing my observations about the track and I am willing to volunteer at the track to help with prep or pushing a broom at the water box. I see Fontana as really the only venue to us in the area who want a 1/4 track and am willing to help out so it stays open. I am sure if I did that and seen the behind the scenes of what it takes I would have a better idea.

Whoa cowboy......If you`re talking about, me I NEVER run my best at Fontucky and a few guys I know don`t eighther. And they`re just slow low 8-sec cars w/OUT traction devices or timing retards and such to help high powered cars hook. I did mention I need to make my car work there because for some reason it doesn`t so whatever Chris. If I had your high dollar stuff I`d hook in a car wash but my STREET CAR needs all the help it can get and the only reason I`m even considering going is cos 7 of my 8 cyls. were sucking oil down the intake ports and it`s the closest track to TRY to back up my 9-sec. pass.
Dude, you seriously need to take a chill pill. No, I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to several people who have made the claim. I could care less what you think about the place, or any other track, for that matter. Congratulations on the success of your STREET CAR. Good for you. You are more than welcome to contact me, and share your expertise in making my car faster. Apparently, I forgot how to get a handle on this stuff? If there is anything else that you would like to share or say to me, I am sure that you know how to get in touch with me, call me, and we will discuss what is on your mind.
I am going to grab my Chilton's book, and try to figure out how to make my RACE CAR hook in a car wash.

Jesse - That is the point that I was trying to make. The track is local, the surface is not bad when prepped correctly, etc., etc.
Is it the best? No. Is it more than adequate? Yep. Different strokes for different folks.

Chris........this isn`t a battle and I`m sure you know what`s up but YOU need to chill. All I said was my car doesn`t seem to hook at that track along with some friends running FASTER than yourself so it`s not about wheather YOU care about what I think about ANY track for that matter just voicing my opinion. Damn, your self righteous attitude isn`t necesary......I`m on your side.

I really like Fontana. My brothers Cuda has its BEST 60 foots there and weve been to Vegas, Bakersfield and Irwindale. Anyways, I like it. Chris, your car is going to make some Hot Street people upset....I cant wait!!! Running the gear that you were in Vegas and still running a respectable number is quite impressive. I have a feeling that the HEMI is going to be more tempermental? than most engines. So by that I mean that its really gonna haul A$$ when its gear correctly. Again, I cant wait!!!

I think I will show up for sure. Im not sure if my brother will come out with his car though. He has been ultra busy lately. So yet again, I will be a cheer leader.

Honestly I can't wait to see Chris' car turning 9800 on the big end, kinda off topic but what type gear ratio do the Pro Stock cars use. Better yet to see his and Al's car lined up.

Brian and Jesse, you guys are ALWAYS welcome to hang out with us.
I talked to a few of the PS guys that are running the Hemi's, and although they have a clutch, their rear gear never really goes over a 5.50
My gear will be a 5.33, which should get me close to where I need to be, going through the lights. If it is too agressive down low, we will take timing out to compensate for the hard hit.
Brian, to say that the Pro Stockers are tempermental is an understatement. This motor is like a woman! Rub her the wrong way, and she gets all ticked off.
O.K., sorry for the hijack. Back to who is coming!

Speaking of Mr. Alguire??? Where you at, dude! You coming down for this?? Come on, I will go easy on ya....
If I keep up with those horrid reaction times, you will be crossing the stripe at the end of the track, while I am leaving the starting line.
