However attempting to put the carb onto an intake made for actual spreadbore carbs like the thermoquad. Not so much. In addition to the MUCH larger secondary bores, the fronts are spread much wider, and the butterflys on the Street Demon will hit the big wide center divider on the factory manifold. Which is why the instructions say that it may need an adapter on factory spreadbore intakes.

The instructions say that a spacer may be required, not that an adapter may be required. Big difference. And most of us use a spacer anyway to further insulate the carb or to increase intake volume. Also, a spacer would deal with the possibility of carb to intake interference.

Just not a big deal. The Street Demon is the best carb for many of our cars and will work with almost all intakes, although it may want a spacer like many of us are using anyway.

I ended up getting the Speed Demon. I installed a spacer ( which I had ) and modified the bracket for the throttle cable ( it needed to be a little taller ). It bolted on and everything works great. I don't remember the car having such nice throttle response. I haven.t had it on the parkway yet but everything seems to be good. Thanks again for all the info.

NO! - it doesn't make that awesome sound - but it is a vastly better carb than the Edelbrock or the T-Quad for a daily driver / street car. I reluctantly upgraded from my old "Demonsizzled" Thermoquad due to how much of a pain in the butt it is to get good parts, and the difference is night and day better with the Street Demon. Started w/ a 650 on my '82 AHB Gran Fury w/ 318 + Edelbrock Performer; also replaced the original Carter AFB on my '66 Plymouth Fury w/ 383. A BIG help was doing the Lokar throttle and trans-kickdown cables at the same time. BTW had no interference issues w/ the throttle blades - tried it on both the stock 4BBL cast iron manifold and the Performer.

On a side note - who here remembers Demonsizzler's T-Quad modification program? He did some great work for me years ago...

Unfortunately he sunk without trace, along with my money down

He helped me several times and I still run one of his carbs today! What ever happened to him?

Has anyone used the Street Demon in a dual quad application instead of the Edelbrocks or AVS/AFB carbs?

I thought I read where Demonsizzler was trying to sell the business, it sold (to who? are they doing TQ work still?), and he retired. Business was in Stone Mountain, Ga, if anyone wants to try to track him down.
