I have a ring and pinion that was removed from a 489 case. The ring gear number is 2070611 and the pinion number is 3507396. The date on the ring gear is 11 3 73, there is no date on the pinion. It is a 3.23 gear set I also have a gear set out of a 741 case. The ring gear from that case has the same 2070611 number on it. Do I have a set of gears that will work in a 489 case, or do I have a set of mismatched parts?

Thanks,

John

Does the ring have a hand written number that matches another hand written number on the pinion?

Yes. There is what looks to be a 0 with a line through it on both the ring and the pinion.

Sounds like you have a matched gear set.
