When you spin the tires badly at the starting line it will raise the mph for some reason. We all know that he has a great running car but mph on this run may be misleading. I didn’t spin on this pass. Just slipped the clutch nice and easy. And spinning was hurting my mph on previous passes because once they spun it was like being on water. I had to let off to regain any traction, unlike a bias.

I'm fascinated with Weedburner's setup, I'd like to see photos or a diagram.
Yeah, that's stout MPH, suppose like PBR says wheel speed may be augmenting that, but it still seems to indicate good power to me, enough that you'll be shopping for a rollbar soon.
If you ever need a hand @ Woodburn, a buddy of mine (Brett) runs there, usually a brown '66 Chevelle wagon. I'll volunteer him! Just tell him you know Steve with the Hamburger car. And keep up the good work on that other thing. The last weed burner deal I saw was basically a screen door closers and he made some kind of adjustment knob for it. That was years ago, and I'm sure he has updated it by now. But that's essentially how it works. You hook the closer to the pedal and then it controls how fast the pedal comes back. And if I'm wrong, Grant can come here and correct it. But I'm pretty sure I'm close. Haven't been to his website lately either.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

The new version for hydraulic release systems is called the "HitMaster". Installs between the clutch master and slave or hyd t-brg, here's a plumbing schematic... ![[Linked Image]](http://grannys.tripod.com/hitmastersystem300w.jpg) Grant What about guys who don't run hydraulic clutches???

The original ClutchTamer acts on the pedal itself, works for either mechanical or hydraulic linkage. Grant

When you spin the tires badly at the starting line it will raise the mph for some reason. We all know that he has a great running car but mph on this run may be misleading. That is true. My best mph of 125.31 is on a run where it spun and only had a 1.61 sixty. I usually sixty in the low 1.50's with a 1.50 best. My best et is 10.76 @ 124.49 and my best mph is 125.31 on a 10.89 run with the spinning 1.61 sixty. With good hook he may lose 1 to 2 mph at the most I would think. But he still had a very nice first outing. ![up up](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/thumbs_up.gif) Ron

I didn’t spin on the 120 pass. I had to just ease off the line and let off when I shifted.
The passes where I did spin were killing my mph. A drag radial is a lot different than a bias if you spin. When they spin they do it badly. I had to let way off to gain traction again. Oh I see. Sounds like you were spinning a lot then and not just a little spinning. I run Hoosier 30 x 9 Radial slicks and love them as they hook great on my car. And all my rear suspension is just SS springs and non adjustable longer shocks. But I do hear most say they cant run radials with a stick shift car as I guess it hits the tire to hard for the radial. I know with my auto as long as I stage in the grove my car hooks great on radial slicks. Good luck to you next time out as you have the power just got to hook her up. Ron

Awesome car and congrats on the 8 months clean! Hope you have a Dana rear and some good axles and driveshaft, cause once you get that thing to hook ...
I’ve got a red headed step child e body too, but I have to say, your car is one of the coolest E bodies I’ve seen.

Since things are a little slow around here I thought I’d share my build and my first outing experience. First off the car is a 1974 ‘cuda 4 speed with 3.55 gears. It’s all stock except motor, wheels, tires, and scatterhshield. When I bought the car 10 months ago it had a 360, probably built in the early 80s late 70s with forged pistons, w2 heads, strip dominator. I decided to stay busy to help my sobriety (8 months now) and year the engine down and freshen it up. Well then I decided it’s a great time to add a 4” stroker kit. Unfortunately I got the scat cast crank kit since I was just building a mild pump gas w2 motor. Well then I find it’s impossible to find valves and didn’t want to invest in new guides and ordered custom valves. I then ordered a custom solid flat tappet from Duane Porter that’s 251@050 and .556 lift on 108. I srtarted getting impatient knowing my car may be down all summer waiting, so I contacted my buddy Del who’s a member here and asked if he had any heads he’d sell to get me going. Well he did. So now I have a 360-1 top end with intake and 1.6 rockers and I couldn’t be happier. They are bowl ported by Duane with a little short side work is all and flow 312@650 and 297@550 which is all I’m using. I put it together within a week at this point and ran it Saturday at Woodburn. The build is now as follows. 11.5 compression 251@050 and .558 at the valve after lash ( yes the offset rocker robs that much lift I found). Indy intake 1050/4150 2” headman headers 4speed 3.55 275 Hoosier radial ( did not work well) So with only 3 passes I managed a terrible nice easy pass since I couldn’t get traction. 2.163 60’ 12.08@120.23 I am happy with the power it’s making my first time out with no jetting or timing changes and with some bias and gears and timing it’ll only get better. Yes I plan to upgrade the crankshaft this winter lol. Did you change the cam or is it a typo? I struggle with a radial on my Dart if the track isn't good, thinking my next tires will be bias.

The cam card should say .556 lift...... which would be with a 1.5RR. He’s saying even with his offset 1.6’s(combined with the screwed up lifter to pushrod angle)it’s still only .558 at the valve. At least that’s how I took it. There’s a few e bodies with sticks leaving soft and running good times on this vid: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ln_21QDtaiY

Lift should be .593 before lash with 1.6 rockers. But I am at .578 actual. And .558 at the valve with .020 lash. The lifter angle and rocker offset takes some of the lift out of the deal.
