Very interesting info Zippy and I too thank you for sharing this. I've always been told the stock rockers were horrible, but never checked for myself.
I have the DLI rollers on mine, but I have a set of widepads for my dad's world block hemi that I've never gotten around to putting together. Hopefully things will slow down around here sometime this year and I can actually get it out and start mocking things up. Checking those rockers is definitely on the to-do list for that engine.

The stock rockers are good to a point - but they start to get a little messy above .600 lift - When I used them back 30 + years ago - we always used lash caps and the stock rocker shaft stands had much to be desired when trying to get a decent alignment across all the valves. The Indy rollers are good choice and are somewhat reasonable when speaking in HEMI dollars. We used to be able to get the stock rockers "corrected" and bushed - but I am not sure if anybody still does that anymore.

Done a bunch of big and small blocks in the past, most of them very near stock....but this is my first Hemi and....the list of "firsts" is too long with this engine....
So I'm more after real time spent, mentoring to follow a solid path and so on.

The way I'm going about it is probably backwards, but I'm planning to do a close to stock one sometime after this 572.
Maybe the all-standard 426 (cam and heads, at the most) will be simple compared to this first one.

Just enjoy learning, and sure don't expect to have an 850hp combination on my first try or anything like that.

As I told Chuck, I don't expect to join the ranks of professional race engine builders overnight...
if it even has 600 at the wheels and a safe tuneup on it, I will leave it alone for awhile.
