I have a Factory correct, I.E. part number correct, Six Pack/ 6BBL 727 Torqueflight transmission, that is date coded correct for the SPD of my car.
It has NO VIN stamped on the pad, but does have the correct Six Pack/6BBL PK Part numbers for a 6BBL 727.
The question I have is about the tail shaft. I was told by the guy that is rebuilding the 6BBL transmission that the tail shaft (which I believe to be original to this specific transmission) is from a C-body because it has "studs" mounted in it for the transmission mount. And the studs appear to be original. And my rebuilder says quote, "B, and E bodies did not come with studs for the transmission mount, they had bolts to mount". He has years of experience with only MoPar 727 transmissions.
My question is this: Did E and B body MoPar 6BBl transmission tail shaft mounts have bolts or studs? I have looked into this with owners and others with original 6BBL transmissions and this does seem to be true.
If so, my original Six Pack 727 seems to have come from a C-body......
Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

I'm asking in the A12 forum,...because there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. This was over on "For C-Bodies Only": (so you may be correct on what it is for............ I finally found,... after searching for a few years, the correct 1970 3410627 6BBL/SIX PACK, 727 Torqueflight for the 6BBL Fury GT. Most importantly, the transmission assembly date is 24 days before the GT's SPD, so now the complete drive train are part numbers and assembly date code matching. And the VIN pad is unstamped! A huge bonus for the car. Needless to say I'm excited for the car.

the correct number for a 1970 440+6 transmission is 34106 72 sorry, no help on the bolts (bolts are the "norm" for B/E/A bodies) VS. studs question but both threads are about the same car/transmission

back in my junkyard ownership days, 1972-1984, we parted many, many chryslers, and some had bolts, some had studs. this also includes dodge trucks as well. i do not count myself as any kind of expert on anything, but this is just my life experience. this leads me to believe what was in the parts bin was used, but . these vehicles, after all, were crashed, or junked for a reason, and they relatively new at the time.

My 727 is PN 3410672. So, bolts are the norm for A/B/E. (because of the mount). And C-bodies have studs. (because of the mount). My 6BBL 727 transmission has studs on the tail shaft and came from Georgia (which is where my car came from), so it appears I have a 6BBL C-body 727, that is going in an original 6BBL C body. And they are both from Georgia,.....what are the odds of that? Cool.

The factory parts catalog verifies that the stud/nut wasn't used on the B and E-bodies. Thank you for taking the time on this John, I appreciate it. When I got the 6BBL transmission I assumed it was from a Cuda or a Charger etc.....it appears that it is actually from a 6BBL C body.

I know what you are trying to say but I have THREE 70 V code automatics and all THREE are missing their original transmissions. I have searched for 672 transmissions for 30 years - they pop up very rarely. The STOCK 672 just did not cut it. I've abused my share of 727s and it is best automatic IMO but for some reason the 672 got toasted quickly

FWIW, the 672 is identical internally to the Hemi 671 except for the governor. Good to know - I just picked up a 671
