Thanks yall, really appreciate the kind words! After feeling like I was beating my head against the wall trying to get this thing to hook, I think I've finally gotten it somewhat figured out. Changing the rear gear from 4.10 to 3.54 made a night and day difference. Just don't have the money for a good powerglide and I felt like a gear swap would be better than a 2nd gear leave VB in this heavy sled.
With what it ran on Saturday in the 1/8, that should have easily been an 8.8x pass in the 1/4.
DVW...I'm spraying 300 hp this year. Was using 250 previously. Fairly conservative on the progressive right now (delaying the hit and a long ramp). I keep chipping away at it...bringing it in quicker and then making shock adjustments to keep the front end down. If I can get it down to where I can leave on the spray and have a short ramp, this thing ought to put up some real good numbers. I still haven't been quicker than 1.31 in the 60'. Quickest pass so far had a 1.35 sixty foot, but I think something under the car tripped the beams...not front tires, but not rears either. I've been 1.40 on the back tires.
Pittsburghracer...Yes, I have Vikings on all 4 corners and they seem to work very well. The car responds good to just a click or two. You're probably thinking of the Mark Menscer shocks? They seem to be the cats meow, but 2 of em cost what 4 Vikings do. All the fast guys run them, but I'm still on a budget here, lol.

Think about this, 3.54 X 2.45 = 8.67 still too much SLR, but a lot better than 4.10.
Think about 2.73 X 2.45 = 6.68 a lot better
Or 4.10 back in and get an electric shifter to shift into 2nd right when the nitrous activates. That's what I'm doing now because I can't afford the valve body and rossler wants the case back to modify it.
Less slr also helps with the front staying down
I know your prob heavy but think about moving weight forward, even moving the bottle to the front seat area will help.

n20mstr...I know what you mean, I'm just somewhat limited by the parts I have and budget. I'd love to go w/ a 2 speed and a 9", but that's a big investment. I threw the 3.54 in b/c a good friend had em on the shelf and it was a HUGE improvement. A 3.23 for a dana should be available soon, might try that if I hit a wall again. Just have to see how it all pans out. I'm sure I'll hit another breaking point.
sgcuda...so far just tightening up the front shocks has kept the front down. It's just a cycle of me getting more aggressive w/ the nitrous and doing a wheelie, then tightening up shocks to keep it down...then starting over again. Limiters will likely be a last resort since I have my doubts on their effectiveness on this car. May cause other issues.
Looks like I'm getting too much separation on the rear, so tightening up the rear shocks will happen next time out. FWIW...on my last pass the front end was only about 6" in the air out past the 60'. I'm still delaying the nitrous, so my goal is to leave w/ it on right off the transbrake.

Then put your 4.10 back in and let it shift right off the brake to 2nd. I don't know what shifter you have but it works great for me. whatever you do....the car is a bad A$$ street car !

You're right, but my knees will be jammed into the dash bar if I slide the seat forward any more. Being 6'5" and 325 lbs has its challenges, lol.
