That's definitely an awkward looking piece. How are most guys mounting them? Don't see much on brackets, etc here.

https://www.holley.com/products/fue...er_efi/hyperspark_ignition/parts/556-152I think I'll just go with the Holley coil. Not that much more than a good branded stock style coil from rockauto. Just need to read up on the connector. Edit: even better... it comes with the connector as well as a new female connector for the distributor wire.

That's definitely an awkward looking piece. How are most guys mounting them? Don't see much on brackets, etc here. There isn't much of anything available for non-Ford apps. Majority of Mopar guys seem stuck on using canister style coils. Here is a link to one that I was working on. I haven't made it yet because I'm pretty sure I would be the only customer, and I've got 100 other projects to work on so I kind of threw it in the corner. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthread...-type-coil-bracket-idea.html#Post2634752it's for a B/RB application though, probably no go for a small block. If that's too much trouble, a couple Z brackets on each side will do the trick just fine.

Got all my parts in yesterday. Designed2drive ICM bracket, Delco ICM, Holley coil and started building a test harness. Happened to have a new coil to distributor wire and a new partial Mopar harness to steal the pickup coil connector from.
Now just need to decide on where to get switched power. Should I just use the old wire in the car's harness, or use it to trigger a relay and pull straight from the battery or starter relay?

I would just use the blue wire ign1 wire & tie the brown wire ign2 into it if this is a no ballast deal (which I am assuming it is). clean ALL connections/terminals including ground paths & #1 check/clean the bulkhead

I'm doing to install the Holley Hyper Spark system on my '69 340 Cuda, but didnt want the square coil. I e-mailed Holley Tech support and they said to use a round Blaster 2 coil p/n 8202 as equivalent. Jim

Ah, yes. Thanks. Forgot run and start are two separate wires. Yes, no ballast resistor. I'll check all the wiring out, but I replaced everything in 2006 and she's not seen rain since and spends most of her time in a climate controlled garage.
The e-coil look doesn't bother me much. This car is more restomod than restoration. Plus moving to the firewall gives me a little more room on the back of the intake.

Got my test harness built and plugged in. Took forever to get it started. Ran ok. Shut down and wouldn't restart. Didn't have time to mess with it. Will try again this weekend.

Bad ground. Fixed and she fired right up. That's what happens when you rush, but sometimes I just can't wait till I have more time. 😁

Thanks! I just made a temporary harness to test. I was using a test lead with alligator clips for the ground. Clipped to a ground bolt head. It slipped and just wasn't making good ground, so I moved it. Now I'll make a permanent harness and pull the main harness to remove the unneeded bits. Going to be hard to cut into what was a new custom harness back in '06, but I'll get there.

Thanks. Got some new plug wires on the way. Once they get here I'll get it all put together and go put some miles on.
