Whatever you do, do not just string a chain from say the left rear corner to the right front corner and lift it that way! We did that on my sons 84 Short Bed and it flexed so much the quarters had "waves" in them. Wish I had a pic of the look on his face when he saw it... Fortunately, when we set it back on the frame it all settled out (much to his relief LOL). Seemed like good idea at the time, Not so much. That's how I do it every time. I've had the bed off quite a few times.

i have a friend that has a support tool for use to support a engine on a front wheel drive car when you take out the transaxle,the length is adjustable and it has a loop for a hook made on it,it fits under the lip of the bed,ive used it a few times,it works like a charm with a cherry picker or one arm of a 2 post lift
my ladder of success is missing some rungs

Wow Jwilli500 I would have never thought there would be a lot of flex!
I think I'm just going to go with people over renting hoist, straps, etc. It's sounding better and better this way.
