Does anyone know the rating of the stock injectors for the 5.2 and 5.9 engines?

5.2 Magnum 92-95 18.2 5.2 Magnum 96-01 23.2 5.9 Magnum 93-95 24.5 5.9 Magnum 96-01 23.2
Also worth noting, those flow ratings are at the standard 43.5psi, however the OBD1 engines (1995 and prior) ran at an actual fuel pressure of 35psi and the 96+'s ran at 49psi. Thanks for the info. More to think about now since I'm using a 93 5.2. Is there an easy way to get the fuel pressure up to the 96 49 psi? I'm thinking those smaller 18.2 psi injectors may be fine at 49 psi.

could it be as simple as adjusting or swapping the pressure regulator ? i can't see there being much difference in the intank pump. not that i haven't been wrong before ! The earlier ones had a return system. Not exactly sure when the returnless system was incorporated. 94 maybe?

The GM LS1 fuel filter/regulator works at 59 psi and will make your 18 lb @ 43.5 psi injectors flow 21 lb @ 59 psi.

Gene, I am also using the GM LS1 regulator and we have plumbed the return back to the tank. But we are using this on a stock 99 5.2L that had no return as you mentioned. Do you see any issues running a higher pressure at 59 vs 55?

I did some more digging and my previous numbers were all wrong. See revised info:
5.2 Injector (92-93): Siemens 53007809; 18.4lb/hr @ 39psi 5.2 Injector (94-95): Siemens 53030262; 24.6lb/hr @ 39psi 5.2 Injector (96+): Siemens 53030778; 23.7lb/hr @ 49psi
5.9 Injector (92): Last year for TBI 5.9 Injector (93-95): Siemens 53030262; 24.6lb/hr @ 39psi 5.9 Injector (96+): Siemens 53030778; 23.7lb/hr @ 49psi

If you want 49 psi, its easiest to use a fuel pump module from a 94-95 1500/2500 dodge truck. It will fit a 91-93 ram fuel tank- BUT the regulator has to be swapped to a 96 later regulator. Pretty sure that 49 psi and OBD 2 started the same year.
I'm running 49 psi in my 88 with a 5.9 magnum, stock 93 5.9 ecm and the 2001-2003 red injectors- runs great- 14 mpg with egr beer barrel Also running 49 psi in my 92 with 5.9, stock 93 ecm and stock 99 injectors- got a vacuum leak so it runs ok but not at full potential yet.
Theres a guy on ebay selling rebuilt injectors as a "upgrade" for the 5.2/5.9 red tops, but they are bosch 702s (i think, maybe 712s) that flow at 21 lbs/hr at 3 bar. That works out to like 22+ at 49 psi. Runs great when I had them on the 88 as well. They are in minnesota iirc
I've tried running the 99 5.2 injectors in the 92 when it had a 5.2 and it was WAY too much fuel. The ford yellow tops really run great in a 5.2
Return system was used in 92-93 5.2 rams and some jeeps with the 5.2, maybe til 94?. i'm not a jeep guy.
I've come to the grim realization that the intake is the biggest choke in the magnum system, for 2 reasons: the huge amount of heat transmitted to the air charge and the huge plenum volume/dead space. (ie stick with close to stock injector unless turbo/supercharge/aftermarket fuel control)

http://utawesomeperformance.com/kegger-vrp.htmlShows the influence of plenum volume as a factor in intake manifold design. Unsaid is how this mod affects highway towing hill climbing in the 1500-2500 rpm range.
