On my 71 Charger there is a wire, which appears to be grey, near the back of the engine. FSM says it is for the oil light. When I put a test light on it, it blinks slowly. I have a mechanical oil gauge so the wire is not being used. Should it blink? What is the proper way to disable it so there is not a live wire?

Tape it off, secure it out of the way somehow, and forget about it.

Since it blinks, its for a oil pressure gauge not a light.
