Coasters started disappearing as people started buying crap furniture. Anyone I know who has real wood tables uses coasters.
Most of mine seem to have some sort of beer advertising on them... I have some suede Yeungling ones.

I prefer the old wooden ones That's what we have with cork in the centers. Had them for years.

I think coasters went the way of ashtrays on the table. If I'm at somebody's house and I'm having a drink I will use a napkin or a coaster if it's available. I usually just hold my drink until it's gone Gus now where is the coaster for my spare beer???

Just took this pic. No cheap furniture in this house. Wisconsin red oak.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
