Who makes reliable aluminum water pumps and housings? There is so much junk out there sold by big name companies I don't want to end of with something that doesn't fit right or fail in 6 months
Thanks for any input

I've used edelbrock, MP, and also a few 20 dollar parts store pumps and they all worked great.
I haven't found a housing that I like quite as much as the MP one which is no longer produced, or the stock iron ones.
don't know about electric....

Only $53 shipped to your door. They were $40 a few months ago.

I've used a 440 source housing and pump on my car for the last 8 years without any issues. Yep, mine has been on two different engines (blew up a 440, no fault of the wp) for well over 5700 miles and 4 years. Never any issues with the 440Source pump, housing or thermostat housing.

My MoPar RB housing had quite a bit of casting flash and raw machined edges in the water path, I blended them in for peace of mind. I was also not impressed with how far away the impeller blades were from the housing inner surface, milling a bit off the forward mating surface would make that closer but I never did.

In my exp w pumps are as dependable as any part I have ever dealt with. I would cut a disc in half & weld it behind the blades (on a BB pump) for an anticav plate & get a pump with the most vanes. What Poly said, you want the impeller to housing clearance as minimal as possible (.040") & for sure check/port/deburr the housing (as needed). & adequate pulley ratio

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I believe they still sell the 8 blade aluminum pump, but the MP housing has been gone for awhile now. I feel the old housing was overpriced at 150-160-something, but it had something going for it...it was cast and machined in California at Buddy Bar, and as far as I know it was the only domestic sourced new housing out there. Why was that never publicized? Too late now. There's more, but I'll stop before saying something I will regret. It's all water under the bridge and I've moved on to better things, but I swear I could write a book about my time there which would probably strir up all kinds of emotions LOL
