I think the new car just makes more sense in this application.

Should have sold the cuda to a resto guy like I mentioned to you years ago if you were gonna go this route. Like I also said before, the new crap is everywhere and just blends in. Keep the cuda.

In a few years the new stuff will look dated, the old stuff will still be "classic". Also how can you pi$$ off the restoration guys if you build with new metal?

Isn't the wheelbase a good bit longer on the new challengers anyway? The old ones were longer too.

'70-'74 cuda wheelbase is 108" '70-'74 challenger is 110" new challenger is 116" New Challenger, to me, driving it has always "felt" much more like a B body and I believe that is one of the reasons why. Can't say whether that's positive or negative, it's in the eye of the beholder....

I own both, new & old. One of each & I would definitely go with the Cuda. New Challengers are everywhere....

I vote...depends.
Which can be made lighter, since I'm anal about weight? I like the new stuff OK, but I really like the chrome bumper, flat hood look. If I were doing a new Challenger body, I would slide the rear axle forward 6" or so after playing with mockup illustrations to see what works best. That would help weight distribution and make the car look better IMO. The proportions just never looked "right" to me. If the rules wouldn't let me do that, I'd likely go old school.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Like you I REALLY want a light car.. I'll pass on the new cars.. they are tanks
