Hi, I bought my 28' enclosed race trailer a few years ago, and didn't get any cabinets. I'm tired of having a jumbled up mess of boxes and crap all over the floor. It's time to get some cabinets and get organized. I'm thinking of doing only across the front, which is 95.5" wide. Maybe an overhead cabinet, and base cabinets with a workbench top. I definitely need a tool cabinet. I could put one on top of the bench, or get one built into the base, or both. Is a vertical closet of any use? I pull with a camper, so I have my clothes stored in the camper.
Also, looking for ideas on storing oil, straps, jack and jackstands, safety gear, etc. I suppose I should hit the Pitpal catalog.
So I'm looking for advise and suggestions, and what vendors have the best product and the best pricing.

THanks,
Joel

Their are so many options and ways to make your trailer the way you want it so you need to figure out EXACTLY what you want and then order the cabinets up scope work
Are you going to haul a golf cart also ? If not you may want to sometime in the future so keep that in mind work twocents
I wish I had a 35 to 40 ft. goose neck with living quarters, but I don't and I don't really need on now shruggy
My current 24 Ft. Pace Shadow works fine for me up It has one bench across the front and home made L shape wooden shelfs above it for additional storage with a medium size five door top tool box bolted onto the top of base cabinet up
5500 watt Yamaha electric start commercial noisy gen set mounted on the tonque.

Lots of stuff to consider....Spend as much time at the track as we do, and you will know what you need.

Maybe I should do a regular tool chest and box like in the shop. THen I could roll it out next to the car when wrenching at the track, and save having to go in and out of the trailer for every tool need that arises. Does anyone do that?

I've seen that more than one team that had big semi trucks and big trailers with rear lift gates and four race cars in them do what your talking about Joel up They counted every tool in every drawer each night before putting the tool box away also work
Your choice on doing it your way up I have separate boxes in the shop and in the trailer, I keep the trailer box with a minimum of shop tools like a timing light and small hand tools and no machine shop measuring tools tsk Where suppose to race them and not work have to on them at the track, correct whistling grin

Harbor freight has a nice 4? Drawer tool car/box. It's usually on sale for 99.00 I use that for the most popular tools I use and yea roll it in out of the trailer.

Also look at the wire rack/closet dept at your local Home Depot or lowes. They have some good options for oil storage etc.

Pit pal stuff is great I have the door oil holder flip down tray unit.

Old kitchen cabinets also work great if you know someone remodeling a kitchen

A friend of mine's Dad always builds his own enclosed trailers. One of the cool things I saw hime do on one of his trailers was a toolbox that faced outside. It was the bottom box to a standard size garage tool box mounted facing out and it had its own door. Not easy to do to an existing trailer but it sure made tool access easy when servicing the car.

I just used a diamond plate aluminum 96" bed side top mount tool box in my trailer as an over cabinet. I bought a used it off of c.l. Cheap, lightweight and looks good.

Pit Pal makes nice stuff, I have some of their stuff in my trailer.( jack holder, extension cord bracket, flashlight holder, etc.) When i bought my trailer back in 2000 I ordered it with a front overhead cabinet. It comes in really handy as i have a lot of stuff in there. I never for some reason bought the trailer door shelf. At Carlisle a few years ago a guy had a diamond plate two shelf oil/spray can holder with paper towel holder for $35 So I bought it , it works great . My friend has no shelves or cabinets in his trailer and has everything in milk crates I don`t know how he finds anything when he needs it. i carry a generator with a trickle charger built in but recently bought a regular battery charger at Harbor Freight to keep in the trailer A friend that drives his car to the track needed a battery charger and I could`t help him , I can now!

I have this on my list for next year:

https://www.amazon.com/Olympia-Tools-85-...91018&psc=1

One of my buddies has one and it works very nice. It's not the same as wheeling your entire toolbox next to the car, but makes it sure makes working on the car easier.

Here's the tool chest. Along the wall I made up floor brackets to hold the battery charger, Jack stands. Homemade wall mounts for the easy up tent, spare body rack to set the hood on.
