This conversation need not go much further, but we'll just say there isn't nearly the problem with tweakers stealing metal and parts from my Dad's equipment yard anymore. Some people just need to understand the error of their ways. They'll tell their friends too. Scrap prices aren't anywhere near what they were a few years ago. If they go back up, thiefs will be back at it.

If they go back up, thiefs will be back at it. I can assure you that isn't why they had a change of heart... Then lets hear the reason. The ingredients are 1 Army vet, 1 predictable pattern of theft, and a less than coincidental meeting in the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes, children need to be spanked in order to stop bad behavior. Bigger children need harder spankings and higher consequences. The parties in question were grown men, so extrapolate accordingly. Same concepts, same lessons learned, scaled up to suit the audience. Petty thieves go for the easy and low risk. This location was no longer the latter and fell off the list. About 2 years later, it started again. Same methodology and same result stopped it quickly. Now it has been 10 years and is just barely starting to have an issue again. New generation.
