i used Denny’s and a local truck place. The last time I went to the truck place I asked him about aluminum since he does them. He said for a car it’s not worth it, he uses a larger or thicker aluminum tube and there really wouldn’t be much savings, not worth the extra cost. That’s always a debate. So I had him just build me a steel 1350 shaft. No issues. He shortened one Jeep shaft and re tube to extend another for me, again no issues, and the Jeep stuff gets real funny with angles. For my other Jeep I used tattons driveshaft, he sells on eBay. You call him with the specs, he builds it and ships it out right away. Again, no issues.

My friend twisted a stock shaft on his lemans on like the 2-3 shift, being cheap. It took out the exhaust, the floor, and damaged the trunk floor. Luckily he had a cell in the trunk. The piece that was left attached to the rear just spun around beating everything up.

Call Travis at Mark Williams Ent. Length and use provide a lot of variables in the construction material. Chrome moly is kind of a no brainer for a stock length, stock bodied car. Carbon ain't cheap and it's not for the long of shaft. laugh Aluminum is great but it's gets larger in diameter which isn't always a good thing.

I have a dennys, nitrous ready. Never a problem. Just upgraded to a pst carbon fiber. About almost double the price of steel, but 10 or more lbs lighter. Worth it when you trying to get light and also safer because it turns to dust instead of a battering ram when something breaks. Pst charges 100.00 for a lifetime warranty, i got that , lol
