That is a bummer....it is tough to see any long term sponsor leave the sport. I guess it's a sign of the times.
To be frank, though, Pro drag racing has lost its appeal to me a long time ago. I have been around since 1964, and Pro racing today doesn't offer anything at all that I can relate to, other than they race over a quarter of a mile (well, 1000 feet, anyway).
I really don't even watch it on TV much, although I pay passing interest to Pro Stock. I'd rather race myself, or watch the local boys (and gals) mix it up at the local drag strip.

Usually when the economy and jobs go down the dumper the beer industry does better... has in the past so I would bet that they feel they can do better in the roundy round world so they will most likely up their dollars in it.. or stay as is and just drop drag racing and put the added bucks in their wallet

Remember the parent company,InBev, bought Budweiser last year. They are a no-frills, all profit bunch. IMO, the economy is just an excuse. ....more bucks in the wallet"
Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Yep Thats sad, a company's involvement as theirs runs deep in history of motorsports....times are a changing. Im am not a Brandon B fan at all, IMO, he isnt capiable of carrying his daddy's lunch bucket to the track. But I feel this had very little to do with the pull out. When the company first sold, this was the first thing that crossed my mind.

I feel the same way, I have 100 or so vhs tapes of drag racing from 80's,90's early 00'0 when it was exciting now I rather race my car and watch the locals too!

Right after the buyout went through, I was told by an inside source that the Bernstein deal was over at the end of their contract.
As said above, ImBev is all about the profit margin and nothing else. They will destroy the AB legacy very quickly.
All the marketing, and charitable work that AB did to be a good 'corporate citizen' is out the window now.

I was a vendor of AB until my first meeting with the Inbev managment team and some key folks from the plant I serviced.
The result of that meeting was me writing a "thanks but no thanks" follow up letter to them. They seemed taken aback, but our rates were contracted for the next year and they wanted to "renegotiate the deal". Ahhhhh...NO!
My contact at that plant summed it up for me last week: "This is not a fun place to work anymore".
I am really disappointed that the AB board sold out in the first place. Is NOTHING sacred anymore?...LOL!
Meanwhile I hope KBR has the best marketing team on this. Love em or hate em KBR has done an INCREDIBLE job for NHRA over the years. I hope they recover for next season!
they were forced to sell

I'm pretty sure I heard on some business news show that beer sales were up.

Yea I'm guessing "Smash Car" and the "Git R Done" crowd is their target demographic anyway.
Hello Sledge_57,
Guess you have not been following NASCAR. The relationship has been slipping bad. Can't blame it on someone else. We can blame only ourselves.
