No sharp edges on the pistons.

Yes I did just use my normal deep valve pocket that gets used on big effort engine ( I knew what the CC would be with in 1-2cc)

Correct icon is not in the custom piston business this set was done as a favor to me.
They really should get into the custom piston market they make a nice piston.

Sorry not talking about cross section of my heads 😉 Got told many times on here how wrong my stuff was.

But the CC of this port is 303 😀 If you Know the port length of a w9 you should be able to figure avrage cross section.

Cam specs are wrong in this engine I missed it trying to knock some cylinder pressure out of it. I did 😂 She only cranks 160lbs

I really would like to change the cam but it's not in the budget on this engine. Hope we can make some changes down the road.

Short list of some changes.

New bigger/better carb
Port the intake (was done poor when built by previous builder) but works better than I thought it would.
Crank trigger
Really think a vacuum pump would help power a good bit.
Better oil pan Just has street type milodon I would guess this is really hurting 4.125" stroke.

Those pistons look nice to me. Looks like they were polished after machining?

Wow! Nice favor! Sweet looking slug. I remember gramps used to do this by hand in his engines. Chambers as well. A lot of work by hand.

Budget motor? (All things realitive....)

You’ll certainly pick up power with dropping the pan depth and vacuum pump. Over all, not for nothing Brett, I think between the lists changes, you’ll break a grand on the power Maori with all of them done. I don’t know what you did for a cam but at 160 psi for that mill at that power, when you get the new one in there it’ll be killer.

But since that cam is in there, I’d guess there is a reason.
I do have one question though! Does it have to be a pump gas engine? As per the engine owners request?

None the less, good job!

What is the story on the timing gear and chain set? Top gear looks like it is cast. With a 60mm cam setup I'd be expecting a lot of load and maybe a billet timing set or maybe a Jesel belt drive?

It's the gears they ran in craftsman trucks.
This thing has low load on that stuff.
275lbs seat pressure only .750" lift with 1.6 rockers roller cam bearings

Motor with plugs out takes 28lbs to turn over 😀

If he had the money for sure would have belt drive on it.

If it is okay for the Craftsman trucks then it should be good stuff. I've never seen that timing set before. I used the Pro Gear stuff when I was designing the billet front cover setup. I liked the look of the Pro Gear setup but I never ran it.
