I'd say that 2/3 of the quickest cars around here are turbo cars. The rest are sprayed, with a procharged or blower car once and awhile. Many of the turbo guys are on the junkyard LS time bomb setup. I'm starting to see more Scat Packs and Hellcats show up at our local track.

Same way around here. Need to be atleast a high 8 sec car to be competitive (mid 5s 1/8 mile). I'm quick enough to compete, but nowhere near the fastest. Only one Procharged car ever shows up and it isn't a street car (400+ inch LS Firebird procharged on alcohol)...barely fits the rules, but it's fast. The rest are turbo GM LS motor mustangs w/ the occasional turbo LS Camaro or turbo ford powered mustang. Most all are bottom 5 and high 4 sec 1/8 mile cars. 7 sec capable 1/4 mile, but all these shootouts are done 1/8 mile. Me and several others are the old school nitrous guys and the fastest run in the mid 5s. No one even bothers showing up w/ a NA car anymore. I was the last NA car running these street car shootouts, did it for 10 years.

Awe, you guys and your 1/4 mile, why don't you try the silver state classic in the 140 mph class?
stolen from their website: The fastest road race in the world is the Silver State Classic Challenge held on Nevada's Route 318, with a record average race speed of 353.48 km/h (219.6430 mph), achieved by Robert Allyn (driver, USA) and David Bauer (navigator, USA) during the 2017 Nevada Open Road Challenge on 21 May 2017.

I am sure an 8.75 or 8.25 would be fine for high speed racing.

I know a couple of guys that run that race, the last I heard it was 99 miles long I'm not sure your average drag car would be competitive or not

I built a dana 70 with 3.54 gears, I wish I could have found a 71 with 3.07 gears to go with my 572 Hemi
