Not Hyd, but I have a .530" solid flat tappet that is 260/266 @ 0.050 in a 493. Runs 11.60-70's with 516 heads and a 750 carb in the heat with 3.55s.
Was 530 hp at 5600, and gobs of torque

I did some work on a friend's '70 Coronet R/T that has a 496" stroker 440, Edelbrock heads and a Comp .501"/292° hyd. flat tappet cam. Never been down the track (100% street car) but it runs very strong.

Real mild. Well it's a long story. I wanted to go through my 440 6 pack motor in a car I recently bought. Started out I was going to do a Mr Six Pack cam and everything else refreshed stock stuff. Well Dwayne Porter convinced me to go with a Stealth head. Which he flowed right at 278 @ 500 lift. And after tearing the motor apart. We found the crank was shot. So now I decided if I have to buy a crank. Why not a 4.15 stroker. I'm wondering how the Mr Six Pack cam (around .471 intake and 492 exhaust)will do in this 496. I want to keep this a mild stump puller. It will probably never see a race track. But a lot of stop light cruising. So I just wanted to see some other real street 496 combos. This will be in a heavy 70 Coronet R/T. Thanks

i'm going to go out a limb here but the ".471-.492" numbers look like engle ep series profiles,...? i'd suggest engle k58/k60 ground on a wide lsa if your using cast exhaust and the big cubes.

Yeah I called Bob and told him which cam I have. And he said it should be fine. Said to make sure to install the cam straight up. But he also said to let him know how it works out.
I order a cam from Bob for my 451... It's the best cam for street and strip application. Have fun
