If you already have that many miles with no trouble I don't see where you would have any now.

I was gonna say, if you haven't done an extended trip yet, go take a "practice" trip, take a loop around your nearest big city's outerbelt and put a good 3-4 hours on it and see how it does. sometimes little bugs do pop up on the longer road trips...oil gets very warm and possibly too thin dropping oil pressure, the fuel pump over heats and quits after an extended run, you know, the kind of things that would come from long continous run time with no breaks.
but if you've already done a 700 mile trip, you're probably fine.
I know that with my stroked 383, I have yet to take an extended trip without some sort of a problem though. first trip from Dayton to Pittsburgh, the new edelbrock fuel pump that was 2 weeks old crapped out on me, left me stranded 5 miles from my destination!
return trip, my valley pan cracked and was seeping oil out all over the engine bay
several months later, I made the same trip and half way into it the custom modified bracket for my PS pump on the serpentine set up cracked, swinging the pump "in" and putting a lot of slack in the belt, making everything squeel and slip, so it started running warm. I got lucky and a short belt to by-pass the pump got me back on the road in short order. (finished the trip without PS, that was fun in parking lots!)
return trip it started overheating--probably air in the system, when the pump bracket broke, it was rubbing on the lower hose and put a hole in it, swapped it out, but probably didn't get all the air out. ...or it was from coolant leaking out of the heater core at the firewall, never got low on coolant, but I can't figure out why else it would have started running warm...ran warm for the rest of the summer too, now that I've by-passed the core, we'll see how it does.
nothing catosraphic, just little annoyances that were not too hard to overcome with a little bit of luck (the fuel pump could have left me 200 miles from my destination instead of 5!)

GO FOR IT. i drove my 4.75" stroked hemi from Milwaukee Wisconsin to hot springs Arkansas without any problems. you might have problems with some excess blow by out of the breathers at 3000 rpm. i installed 2.76 gears and turn about 2000 rpm and had some problems.
perception is 90% of reality

It's probably better for that motor than a bunch of short trips. My cars always run better after a good spirited road trip.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Seems like a waste to have something like that and being apprehensive about driving it
He just asked a question. Nothing wrong with that.
If it runs fine for 2 hours, it should run fine for 10 hours.
So check everything over real good and take the trip and have fun.
Herbs drives his GTX, just cause he's concerned about a trip in his big inch Hemi GTX that any smart person would be concerned about their daily driver for... I see reason to be concerned, I wouldn't let it stop me, but I'd wanna double check things...
