The dart and duster should be the same. As a matter of fact if you look at them there is very little difference between Darts, Dusters, Barracudas, Challengers, Chargers etc.... They are pretty much the same except for compnent locations. For example the location of the starter relay is different but the wiring to it is the same.

The dash wiring is different between models though. Mainly the rally vs non rally wiring harnesses.

The real differences start to appear in the extra's like overhead consoles, power windows, power seats etc but those are rarely if ever seen on those diagrams.

Those are simple. They are the same on almost all mopars.

The wiring diagram posted will be correct for duster's, darts or just about any mopar of that era.

The really good diagrams have the wire size & color. I will see if I can copy mine when I get home.

Here is a better copy of the Engine Wiring. If you look each wire is numbered. The numbering goes like this.

The wire from the battery to the starter relay is A1A-10R
A1A is the number to trace through the diagram, 10 is the wire guage and R is the color or Red.

Numbered wires like J7-18GY* that end in an asterisk have a White Stripe noted by the * and no second color.

Numbers that end in two colors and an asterisk are striped with the second color. For Example J5-18BK/Y* is an 18 guage black wire with a yellow stripe.

I will try to ge the under dash wiring scanned tomorrow. These are B body diagrams but they are the same inside the engine compartment and only slightly different under the dash.

Open the attachment above and you will see a larger diagram.

Hope it helps.

I have some more but here is an over view of the 5.9. What are you doing with it? I am trying to put a 5.9 in my 70. I will get the others together with the rest of the dash wiring tonight.

I'm putting it in my 67 Barracuda...it looks like a very easy swap coming from a B350 Van, even the engine mounts look the same ! I will make a trial fit tonight and let you know....
I'm getting the '94 shop manual from Dodge tonight too !!

BUt will the new alt draw too much current for the old electronic set up ?? that I don't know yet

If I knew how to add an image I would.....

Dan

Here is what I found on my car.

1. The factory Magnum manifolds will not clear the power steering box. They do but are about 1/8" off of it, so the box would suffer heat problems.
2. Magnum Headers will not clear the steering column so I am going with LA engine headers.
3. The factory Motor mounts for a 74 and older car will work fine.
4. You will need a LA 360 oil pan and pickup for you car. Not hard to get.
5. The Magnum's are a different balance so make sure you use the correct flywheel/flexplate & Torque converter.
6. The van power steering pumps use a different mount and you will need it to clear the battery.
7. If you use an A-518 OD tranny you need to replace the cooler lines with 3/8" lines. The 74 and older lines were 5/16" and are too small.

I hope that helps you some. I will post Wiring diagrams tonight when I get home from work.

Sorry for the Hijacked thread.

Can you raise the engine by shimming the mounts ?
1/2 inch ?....3/8 ?

The problem with shimming is the through bolt may not clear after it is shimmed.

I didn't try on my car because I am trying to use the factory keg intake which is dangerously close to the underside of the hood.

Here are the wiring diagrams for a 73 Rallye & Standard dash. These are B body diagrams but they are nearly identical to the A & E bodies.

Daniel here is a link to the Magnum Wiring diagrams. There are 12 images so I didn't link them all. If you can't get them let me know. Wiring Diagrams

Ok.....after a trial fit , TALL is the word !!! yes...after everything in place. and keeping my 67 mounts, if I shim the mounts 3/8-1/2, everything clears, and the hood closes fine.

But it is a thight squeeze I have 1/4 inch clearance on the pass side shock tower.....LA headers will fit on the MAgnum heads ????
Do you have the same mounts as I do ?
Daniel

I have been blown away with work but I will get some pics of what I have done and update.

I will probably start a new thread that isn't about wiring for that.

I will update tomorrow.

Have a good one
