The 750 you have should work fine. Rather than buying another carb invest in a A/F meter and a tuning kit for your Edelbrock. If you really have to buy a carb a 850 Thermoquad will give you the best of both worlds IF you tune it properly.

i don't get lost in cfm ratings and don't use them as a major criteria for carb(s) selection. i'm old school and still look at venturi area. So how much would a 1.48 venturi 1.79 throttle blade carb support..... asking for a friend not to be a smart a$$ but it really depends. the numbers you gave are odd. what carb is this?
