That trackday weather sucked! It rained a fine mist all day with no traction whatsoever and spun out immediately
Waited hours to see if the rain would let up and the track to dry out but no luck. Even if Sonoma Raceway dries up halfway there are still puddles that will 180 a car and send it to the wall. A bunch of us packed it up and called it half a day. Oh well at least the `Cuda's fine and drove home straight.
At least you honed your car controls skills! Glad to see Mike treating a Demon like a normal car, although I can't even imagine how that car would be in the wet with traction controls off.
Sears Point is an awesome track in the wet! Most folks get scared so it allows for some fantastic track time. I've done it in my Charger with no issues.

I was only going 45mph and trying to drive carefully when I spun. I feel that the 315's I have hydroplane very easily in the wet. Maybe I should not have took that line around the Carousel? Definitely a learning experience for sure!
Sounds good. Group 3 is really the most fun. I'll be running HPDE 4 and parked in the instructor paddock. If you want to do any ride alongs or lead follows, as an instructor I can jump into any group. I'll be there with the Charger or the Road Runner. Trying to get the Road Runner there, but waiting on parts; as usual, hahaha.
If garages are available, It's usually in the event email that should go out in the next couple of days. You can always email scott@drivenasa.com and ask as well.
I've been dealing with a small leak at my oil lines going back to my Accusump. The leak is at the AN fitting where it connects to the Tee. The leak has been there for a while now and all my attempts to fix it aren't working so I'm going to ship the whole assembly back to XRP where they will pressure test all the lines and fittings and see where the issue is.
Hopefully I get everything back by next Friday June 8th and still sign up for June 16th with NASA at Sonoma!
Next time you've got a problem like that; the shop I work out could probably get you sorted out. We have all the line testing equipment at the shop and we've upgraded to XRP's latest hose, the Pro Plus Race hose. Expensive stuff, but with the crimp fittings and PTFE liner; it's rated for modern fluids and much less time consuming to assemble. https://www.xrp.com/xrp-proplus-race-hose/
but if you ever find yourself in a jam, we're in San Carlos. Shop is Performance Fabrication.
I already have ProPlus Race hose installed in my car for a couple years now, fuel and oil lines. I'm a dealer for XRP as well and will be getting one of their crimp machines and pressure fixtures eventually but ony after my setup is 100% leak free.
For whatever reason my AN fittings weep oil at the swivel? Going to have XRP take a look at it to see what exactly the issue is. Thanks!
that is odd. We had a few issues with the reusable hose ends; but they related more towards assembly. Since getting the pneumatic crimper, its been great. Looking forward to meeting you next weekend!
My oil assembly arrived late at XRP and they will pressure test the whole thing tomorrow. I don't think its the fittings but its the Tee that I used wasn't sealing properly. Bad news is that I may not be able to get my oil lines back until next week and may not be able to make the June 16th track day.
NASA will be back at Sonoma Septmber 8th, will sign up for that date and hopefully your Road Runner will be up and running by then!
So either UPS Ground lost my XRP oil lines or I got jacked from my front door! Either way there is no possibility I'm making it to the June 16th track day at Sonoma haha!
Good luck out there to all that are going and stay safe. We'll be back to Sonoma Aug. 16th and Sept. 8th! Should have this oil line mess cleaned up by then
