He says he has 33" tires, 5.13 gears, 8 inch converter, only burns 110 race gas that he buys by the drum, and ran a best of 9.30's at 143. At 143 mph, the hemi is turning 7900 - 8000 rpm. he claims it makes 610 hp @ 5400 rpm. He never says thats the peak horsepower. It has race seats, glass hood and deck lid, aluminum radiator and hood hinges, a 4 link/coil over rear, and who knows what other light weight parts. So lets guess 3450 race weight. That would take 760 wheel horsepower to accomplish the claimed mph. So if his 610 horse @ 5400 rpm Hemi puts out 850 at the crank at 7500 rpm, that would put him in the 9.30's. With a well built Barton 500 inch hemi in a well sorted car, I could see that happening.

I was wondering about the hp numbers also as yes he does not say the 610 hp is peak. But why would he not say peak as most are so thrilled to brag about the big hp numbers ? Just made me wonder is it true or is there a misprint ? Ron
