Opening it up to all makes ruins it IMO. No need to travel to a "special" event to do the same thing you can do right up the road from your house any weekend. Like others said, I'm sure it initially sounds good and you think it'll draw a bigger crowd, but all you'll do is eventually kill this particular race ending up w/ another open spot on your schedule.

I, for one, am very disappointed in these "last minute" changes. We have been planning to go to this event since January, vacation days scheduled, motel rooms reserved, skipped other events to be able to attend this one, ect., only to be told 3 weeks prior to the event, that everything that is important to us has been changed, and that "all makes" are now welcome. If I want to race with "all makes", I can do that locally, pretty much every weekend, no need to drive 500 miles to do it. Just my opinion, but I think that this change will cost the show more Mopars that it will gain "other makes", maybe not. I hope this one turns out well, but as of now, we are undecided if we will make the trip or not.
Brian Dunnigan Rule is if you don't go to clay city, you and your wife have to come race with us at London that weekend brian! We're all undecided to go to clay city that weekend also. Maybe Scotty should get on here and tell us how great it's gonna be. Jeff.

I guess I'm confused and scratching my head. Everything is in place for saturday for all Mopars to run, the gamblers race was my idea as to help keep the "other brands" even there for Sundays race, if the shoe was on the other foot, would you mopar guys like to sit there all day sat watching the other brands run all day knowing you will not see the track all day?. This was set up for later in the day when we get down to late rounds needing cool down time and also, Scotty has said, if a mopar guy wants to jump into this deal, that's fine. Other then gamblers race, what has changed for Sat? We are doing everything we can do to make this a good fun event to attend. You mean one gambler race effects the whole deal of being a Mopar day? Here is something Scotty posted the other day. “”””ATTENTION ALL RACERS “””” MOPAR ON THE MOUNTAIN Sept 7th-9th
Just to address a few things !!
First off the same people will run the programs !! Bob Rogers ( Car Show) , Dallas Clark (Race Operator) , with assistance from ( Tech & Staging Lanes from Nitro Joe Jackson! We also will have the help from Dale Mears !! Plus our staff will again run the race just like the past years ! However we had to make a few changes because Sunday we lost so many racers !
All racers and spectators know that this is a Mopar event ! Racers and spectators make this event ! No1 else does - me included!
So we didn’t have very many King Of The Street Cars last year so we decided to not have them !!
If any of the King Of The Street Cars want to race ! We will pay 100 percent back !
Also Friday is exactly like it was last year ! Everyone is welcome to Test & Tune !
Addressing Nostalgia SS class ! We welcome all Nostalgia SS racers to race with us ! Last year we had I believe 1 that wasn’t a Mopar but was still able to race !
Saturday is ALL MOPARS in all of the classes but we welcome ALL in Nostalgia SS both days !! If we have 20 cars we will pay $1,500 to win and for every 5 more we will add $250 more !!
We did change the entry to $100 each day or $150 for the weekend for Nostalgia SS!
Saturday we will have a Gamblers for all other Makes and models so they have a reason to stay for Sunday! If any Mopars want to join this race they can !!
Sunday in No Box & Box Classes we will keep Mopars separate form the other makes until the finals !!
Racers & Fans Mt Park Dragway has a history of putting BIG MOPAR SHOWS on and we will continue the tradition !!
Please help us Spread the word!

I think it is because some people really look forward to a Mopar only show, and having the rug pulled out 3 weeks before the show is really annoying.

I'm back to what rug, the only thing not Mopar on Sat is N/SS (reason for all brands in N/SS, car count, we want car count) and I've already commented why on gamblers race, that's it, I'll just say wow!

The rug that Scotty rode on using he Monster Mopar name on his website all year. Told me personally in text that I’ll be glad to share assuring me it would be mopar only for the weekend as I stipulated that for my event name to be tied to it that we would keep the show brand specific - otherwise I wasn’t interested - then to produce a flyer 3 weeks before the show changing the entire event and making me look like a dipsht - It’s not a mopar event. It’s a bracket race with a couple mopar classes on Saturday. It’s his track, he can what he wants....but don’t call it something it’s not If

How well would the Mopar nationals do if they allowed all makes to come. It's not the Mopar nationals anymore, it's a carshow.
Just my two....

I've heard the car count on Sunday was historically low for this race which may have contributed to the change. I try to support all the Mopar races I can but I've never been able to make this one as the wifey helps with the heart of ohio car show and pinup contest. Maybe add $100 Bonus money for the last 1 or 2 Mopars left in the Mopar vs the World format? Kinda like Josh's bounty money The Mopar Nats had a solid turnout in all racing classes this year despite fighting rain on Fri and Sat. They pay the largest Mopar purse at $2000 to Win - $1000 Runner-Up for Pro and S/Pro. I respect and appreciate all of the promoters/tracks efforts... without them we could end up like the Super Chevy guys. One of my Chevy buddies was wheeling a Mopar at the Nats last weekend and he was memorized at the atmosphere.

Damn guys. Every mopar guy with reasonable drive that can possibly make this show should be there. If you want options like this to still be around, go. If you don’t want to lose mopar only shows because not enough mopar guys are showing so the deal turns a buck, go. Drown out any world cars 500 to 1 with mopars and I’m sure you’ll see it be mopar only next time.
I want my fair share

I just got home from Clay City. It was a bad weekend for the track. Friday night test and tune went well, but the monsoons hit Saturday afternoon, and wiped out the rest of the day and today.
That being said, car count was way down probably because of the weather. We had 37 Slant 6 cars on the grounds, and 34 made the call for the 1st round. This was a record turnout for Slant cars. I was amazed there were even that many left in the country...... The track really went out of their way trying to keep things going to beat the rain. Were were in the lanes for the third round when a guy on a time run splattered a trans in the left lane. They got the ambulance out there in a hurry, but I am not sure if they transported him or not. Tower said he got hit in the foot with shrapnel. I did see him out of the car and limping around, hope he was not badly hurt.
We got our third round in just in time for the rain.
I want to thank Scotty and his crew for doing a great job under tough conditions. I was planning on this being my last trip that far away from home, but I will try to make it back next year.
Also, I did not see any non-Mopar race cars on the grounds, but I was really busy trying to keep my junk ready to go.

I was there Saturday as well. Which slant 6 car is yours? I did not seen any of the other brand cars there either. Enjoyed what racing there was and the parts sellers were dealing since not that many people braved the weather to come out. I really enjoyed what racing I did get to watch. Hopefully they will get it in next year with better weather. Jerry
