Figure it out soon.
I bought some summit fuel system, electric pump, regulator and gauge for a project car.
It had MSD-6 ignition.
It would flood at stop signs and a friend was behind me once, while I was trying to restart it, he walked up and said you have fuel running out of the exhaust pipes!!!!
It was blowing past the holley floats thru the cylinders, in the oil and also out the pipes!!!!
It had a Gallon of race gas in the oil!!!
Time bomb.
Problem was the cheap gauge.
I never did understand how it was firing those plugs with raw fuel on them!!!!!

I have had the same problem on 3 GM 350's. Every time we put one on now it automatically gets a pressure regulator. Have not had any problem with my mopars because I learned right away with those chebbies.

well i tried putting a fuel pressure regulator on it, i tried 4 psi, and 5 psi and it still wants to flood. I have checked the float adjustment and needle and seats and everything seems to be in order. I guess it's time to send it back to summit and try my luck with another one? anyone recommend any other easy to work with carburetors? I need a 600 cfm 4 barrel electric choke, it's going on a stock 361 big block...thank you for any help.

i havent read any of the other posts but what I do is take the carb off and drain the carb remover the top, blow into the inlet with the top upside down and see if it leaks. if it doesnt blow harder. if it still doesnt leak, the needle valves are fine and you need to look elsewhere.

maybe the float is rubbing on the body cause it bent to the side????? its should be straight down the center of its bowl when installed

Could one of the needle/seat assy's be just barely nicked or a mfg defect enough to be flooding it. With 4 psi you should be good. Unless there's alot of minute debris in the gas I'd go back to the trouble spot which is the inlet valve(needle/seat) & maybe you can buy them seperately without having to go to the trouble of sending the carb back in.

Pull the top off the carb. The needle and seat are stuck open from excessive pressure. I usually tapped the rear where the fuel inlet went and got them to reseat.
