Oh
I had some dirt in my rear needle and seat valve last weekend and had fuel dumping out of the boosters. I flipped the pump on and it ran for 5-10 seconds before I noticed it. The fuel level in the venturis was almost to the top of the carb before I could shut the pump off. I fixed the issue.

Today, I pulled the plugs and turned the engine over to adjust the valves and had probably a quarter gallon of fuel dump out onto the floor from the cylinders being filled. It didn't start to happen until I turned the motor 180 degrees and was on my 5-6 valve.

The car has not been fired since last year. I want to fire it up, let it get to operating temp and then do an oil change but, I'm questioning if that would be the best plan. Do you think it would be better just to drain to oil cold and do the oil and filter change now? Maybe take it a step further and prime the engine or is that overkill? I just feel that some of that fuel had to leak down into the crank case.

I would change the oil & prime the oil pump.

You might smell gas on the dipstick; that's a good indicator.
From the carb, the fuel would run through the intake, into theheads, and probably down the cylinder walls.
I'd change the oil & filter, and prime the pump, as csk says, and pull he plugs and shoot some fogging oil in there.
FWIW, I always fill the filter with oil - depending on its location, and how much could run out during installation, maybe not full, but as much as it'll take to avoid a wasted mess.
