I have considered this, I would need to add a solid state relay for the WP in my situation. I normally just run the water pump all the time, but in the winter it makes it hard to get engine temp up over 130 or so. It would be nice to slow it down to help build a little heat.


The thermostat is supposed to do that job, it can be a Hi flow stat as well.

For the OP, keep it simple. Id wire it triggered by the ign on. Then add a second switch to fire it at will when the engine isn't running.
