That bow, body contour or whatever you want to call it... they are made that way and what I was talking about in my post above. The door are not flat as shown by your level. Level...? If you read further up, I agreed with your post, in this pic you can see by the reflection in the door, of the subtle coke bottle shape it has, again the OP initially stated "JUST AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE" and whether it was "FLAT" or had some kind of character line or shape... no mention of the entire door surface until after some discussion/pics That's why I asked for pics, as we may be on a ghost chase?, lets get the OP some help on posting pics, then we can discuss all the convex/concave profiles of the door skin Ad nauseam

That's what makes those cars so attractive: there's hardly a straight line on them anywhere. Everything is concave or convex, and in many places, actually both. Doors do "dip in" at the middle if viewed from above. There's a similar contour near the front of the quarter panels. The hoods are another panel that's actually pretty complex: they appear to be flattish on either side of the center peak, but have subtle depressions before they rise to meet the fenders. Trunk lid stampings are often distorted (low spot) near the forward corners; not a styling trick, just an issue they had. Agreed! .....Just makes them so much of a "joy" to block and wet sand multiple times!...lol!

Does the door look right? Yes... On another note, just a personal observation and opinion, I'm not a fan of those King Kong sanding blocks, esp using them on something like a 69-70 Plymouth B body, too many subtle convex/concave surfaces, I usually use anywhere from a 6" to 10" long block, and for some of the really tight areas like the upper door, just outside the side window where it's only about 3" wide I like to use a thick wooden paint stick to block and wet color sand with, leave the large blocks for maybe the trunk lid, or sections on the hood Mike
