I can tell you FOR SURE they wouldn't fit a 62. My 275/60 PRO required the spring to be pushed in to the side of the frae rail, and the wheel lip beat, and they BARELY fit. Hmm, my '63 required none of that with the same tire and I have room to spare on both sides!

Hmm, my '63 required none of that with the same tire and I have room to spare on both sides! I have had 275 60 15's on my '64 Plymouth before, and they fit easy, with plenty of room to spare. Just wondering about the next size up 295 65 15, if anyone has squeezed in these big tires with stock leaf spring location, stock axle width, and stock wheel tubs?

I have 275/65/15 on my car now and I have tried the Hoosier QuickTime 295/65/15 with 4" backspace to clear the leaf.It looks like it will fit inside just fine but I know if the suspension moves up the outer sidewall will hit the fender tub. I haven't tried to beat the inner panel in yet but I would really like to run the 295's Gus

The 295 will fit MY 64 Savoy with a 8" rim with 4" back space but it might rub when the body comes down. the Hoosier has a 12.3" max sidewall width with a 10" tread patch. I will try to drive it down the road when the weather gets better around here. Gus

Are you running leaf springs in stock location? Stock wheel tubs? Stock width rear axle? What is the width and back space on the rear wheels are your using?

Hoosiers are 1/2 inch shorter then the Mickey's.

My springs are in the stock location, wheel tubs stock, rear axle is very close to a 67 B rear axle width. It was under a 67 Camaro with Moser axles It fit so I traded my 9" for it. I only have one tire and wheel combo so I could test fit it before I buy a pair of them. The rim is a Basset IMCA rim 8" wide with a 4" backspace. I will mount the wheel and get a pic of it this weekend. Gus

hey Gus, this is something i've also been anticipating. don't want to mini tub my car, so i'm looking for the widest wheel n tire i can put on car. 285/65/15 4 1/2 b.s. seems to be the combo that i've heard. im have adjustable shackles, so maybe more is possible.

As soon as I get my rear end back together and my driveshaft is done I will get a pic of the tires on the car. Right now I'm getting the rear end re-tubed and trued up. Like I said already they BARELY fit and I'm pretty sure that if I didn't turn my shocks up to max they would rub the outside wheel tub.I think with a little massaging they would clear or if I would move the springs in and go with a 4 1/2" backspace wheel. I have 3/4" clearance to the spring with a 4" backspace 8" wheel. Should have my junk back together in a few weeks and I will get a picture then. Gus
