I'm not much of a SB fan but you have those engines working nice. If I had any of the billet SB timing covers left I'd send you one. The billet covers I used to make would look nice on an engine like that.

That engine has a belt drive, it wouldn't need your cover.

These W8 or W9 small block Mopars will out run most big block Mopar combos, I'm a Big Block guy but these things are changing my mind.

2.4 is a great result for sure. A lot of really stout SB stuff out there for everyone these days. Some of the combos we see in NA 10.5 are making some big steam for sure. Wish there were more readily available block options for the SB guys. I have always wanted to do a modern day W engine. I had a W2 that worked well way back in the 90's and it worked well but nothing like this new stuff..

Thanks I am real happy with the numbers but know I left a bunch on the table.

I was shooting for peek HP around 8700 ( cam needs work to do that)

Intake was not built for this engine so gave some power up with that

CR not what I wanted but valve pockets win out over CR😂

Cam is not on kill this is more what I would call fast Bracket cam ramp speed is mild and should go good many passes on the springs 80+ I would think.

Our goal was 915-920 so hit goal with little room to spare.

1.61 torque per CI is cool also 😉 At 7500 RPM😂

Hey Brett....
How big is the carb on that motor?
Cant believe the carb sizes your running. Love it
I learned small block mopars go faster the bigger the carb, from you. Wont forget it.
Still hard to believe a dinky 318 runnng 6500 max loved a 950 over smaller carbs.... lol
Wish now i had put a dominator on it before i sold it just to see

Lots of BIG carbs on SMALL engines in this world. They make power. I think most guys would be very surprised how big some of them are.

Killer combo for sure. I'm surprised the RPM is as low as it was at that power. I'm sure you have more there just in the RPM deal which will make more power. Ya know what they say either more cubes or more RPM to make more power smile

Back in 1986 when I was running my street/strip 340 '71 Cuda at SPR, all the racers kept telling me that my 850DP was too big for my little motor, to shut them up I put the 750DP back on which came with the car when it was a lesser tune and it went 2/10ths slower, and I had stock heads on the motor.

Better example of big carbs was>>1 of the racers was running a tuned Ford Cortina with a rover 3500cc (215ci Buick) motor, stick car, I told him to try my 850DP on it over his 600 Holley, he just laughed but did it,........2/10ths quicker up...big carbs work

And that is a terrific combo, 950hp...wow...would show a few boys over here that mopar can rule over chebs.

Everyone thought Herb McCandless was nuts putting a Dominator on a small block back in the day. Until they saw it run.

One of these days Brett will do a clean sheet Max effort build.. a lot of these are freshen UPS and upgrades.. there's always stuff left on the table.. mine for instance is a rehashed bracket combo.. kind of a fast bracket deal.. kind of morphed into something else.. Brett's work ethics and knowledge are second to none.. we are lucky to have him around..

You are right Shiloh. We are lucky guys! Last year I called to Brett about a W9 project that I was planning and He explained a lot of things around a W9's build. By the way He had a ton of patience because my english is poor. lol

I would like to see what Brett could do with a monster inch XR2 and a set of P7s,I would bet he could set some kind of small block NA HP record.
