I think its time for John to retire before he gets seriously hurt or hurts
somebody else, seems to be having issues keeping it together or in his own lane, dont he have enough Wallys, really!! tired of the Force / Schumacher show,
He who has the most money wins, show me sportsmans classes, oh I can for an additional $120, I support my local drag strips, we are the true grassroots
racers! Just my 2 cents

86 Daytona - 612/ glide - 2400lbs - 8.60 alot more left
71 S/G Challenger - 469/glide - 2800lbs - 9.20s and tuning
70 Challenger - mild 440/727 - 3475lbs - 10.96 best
70 GTX - future quick 16? more $$$$$$

Only way they're going to hurt any GM parts is if the Suburban breaks down on the way to the hotel. The only thing the GM change over involved was slapping Chevrolet stickers on the valve covers.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I read somewhere that a new design on the billet intake may be part of the Engine explosions this season, very expensive and only a few teams have started using them, probably Force and Schumacher mainly. Not sure if its true or not.

NHRA limits the mag's to 44 amps, as part of an effort to slow them down for safety. With out more spark, it's hard to light the immense load of fuel. So when it doesn't light, there is no combustion pressure to blow all the fuel out of the cylinder. Fuel builds up, it hydro locks, and boom! So the safety rules helps them blow up and crash. They all want to win really bad, they are on the edge with their tune ups. Throw more fuel at it, make more power, have a chance to win, and a chance to blow up. Or cut back the fuel load, make less power and lose. Tuff choices.

BTW, the Rev limiters are not like our msd's that cut cylinders. That would be an instant bomb. They only cut back the timing when they reach the rev limit.

I am sure it is the CHEVROLET script on the Hemi valve covers making the engine explode... flame

Do they even run a different engine? I figured it was basically all the same, just a different body.
