As far as I know, the car in question isn't a true "day 2" car; no decals, mags, headers, hi jackers, etc. It's more of a F.A.S.T. type deal. Not sure you could call it a sleeper but it's pretty stock looking at a casual glance. I believe the tach would be just a small period-correct add on touch.

But as for the day 2 tire discussion - Pro Trac tires are available from Coker. Pretty similar to the Formula Super Stock tires without the RWL.

The car in question is all STOCK. Just a tach add on. LOL.

Seriously though, the car might as be stock being that a 4 speed needs to be acquainted with after so many years.
He's keeping to the F.A.S.T class tire looks, but he's way from learning what those F.A.S.T guys from Richmond high know and do already.

Basically a F.A.S.T car on the street.
And no, no Monster tach for this one.
Love that Don Garlits Americana tach shown above.

I did the tach on the column for years and then mounted a monster on the Dash pad. Reality was I couldn't see ANY gauges when the go pedal was fully depressed!! Now I just use a shift light whistling

Funny as even though I have my tach mounted where I can easily see it I rarely use it when racing. I usually look at it on the line as I come up on the converter a little but no matter what I tell myself I usually always shift by the feel , sound and pull of the eng. My brother used to get mad at me when he would ask me what I shift at and I would say .....when it feels right. Ron
