Hi, I'm looking for a way to leave my front suspension softer. I was measuring my OE torsion bars and I found a 0.890" DIA and it's looks like too stiff for a Small Block car. I was searching on internet and Mancini Racing has a Mopar Performance Drag Race torsion bars with 0.810" DIA for sale. http://www.manciniracing.com/mop810diam.html My only concern is about street usage. Can I still running normally on the street with my car installing this torsion bars?? If someone knows any different torsion bars that will works for my application I really appreciate.

I've got the .810 MP Drag Race bars in my 62 Valiant Drag Week car. Right away I had the adjusters near the top to achieve the ride height I wanted, and after four Drag Weeks and around 5500 street miles they are completely shot and will no longer hold up the front of the car. This is in a 3000 lb car, small block with aluminum heads and aluminum radiator. With my experience the .860s are the smallest I would go. I'm going to put .890s in mine, as I think I don't need the front end that loose at the power level I'm at.

I believe the torsion bar would be a good move.. they're also lighter.. you're also going to save weight with the upper control arms..

Thanks for your feedback Billy. This is my concern about .810 torsion bars because I run with my car at street every week. I'll doesn't like to change torsion bars every two years So I'm looking for something that can help me with weight tranfer for the rear at track but don't kill the car for the street. By the way, I liked your car!

Yes man! I've three different things to change in car in my mind.. upper control arm, torsion bars and monoleafs but now I just have budget for one. In your opinion what should be the first thing to change?

In your opinion what should be the first thing to change? My choice would be monoleafs (assuming you already have CalTracs) torsion bars, then upper control arms. Bill

Just what is your application? Is your car a '73-up B-body? Up here those use a bar about 43.5" long. Our 1962-72 B-bodies use a 41" bar. The ones you linked are for A-body (~=35-1/2"). You should probably measure the length of your bars before spending any money.

Application is around 50% street, 50% Track. Torsion Bars length as Shiloh said is A-Body standard length. I did weight front of the car and found 1600 lbs. 52% of the total weight.

Where can a guy buy A body .840-.860" torsion bars? Mancini lists the .890" bars as big block bars. Good question Justin. I tried to find .840" on internet but I can't. I found .830" (slant six) for sale. Should this work in my car?
