Ryan have you seen where the Moroso calculator is accurate through out the scale or does it have a window of accuracy?
Since this topic is back up I wonder if Ryan (or anyone) would answer this now?

Car weighs between 3050-3060 with driver and fuel.
Best of high 5.80's 114 in the 1/8, 9.40's 142 1/4 mile.
Based on the Moroso speed calculator it's making around 670 HP at the flywheel.
Anyhow.... Don't see 5.80 114 MPH 59 degree SB engine combos every day.
The car is HOOKING for sure running 5.80's in the 1/8th with 660 on tap at that weight.
Our car runs 5.80's @ 118 and put 660 HP to the tires on a chassis dyno with a SBF, motor made @ 725HP on an engine dyno. It has been 9.001 @ 150 1/4. We came in @ 2800LBS in our car.
[image][/image]
Nice engine.
150 MPH @ 2800lbs race weight..... Moroso says 722 HP
And yes the moroso #'s are for a fully optimized chassis/trans/gear/tire drag combo.
If you believe that the moroso is rear wheel HP like some believe..... 660 RWHP @ 2800 should only run 9.27 @ 145
I think in your case it seems to be showing much closer to what we also see with our engine dyno #'s it is closer to flywheel HP.
mloboda's 358" W8 motor was in a 2713# race weight tube chassis '69 Barracuda before we put it on dyno. In good air it went 8.82 @ 152.5 MPH @ Mason Dixon. Moroso says 152.5 MPH @ 2700# = 735 HP. I attached his best dyno pull off Riders SF901...... I dunno what to tell people other than for us this dyno seems to correlate very well with the moroso. Same exact motor made 806 HP on Barton's DTS. Read into it what you may....
And yes I know our website is down, and will be back up within 48 hours.

Also keep in mind..... your motor is making more power than that, generally the car is never fully optomized to use everything the engine has. Your motor would probably make at least 630 on dyno I use, 650+ on most.
I often see cars not running #, that match well to HP #'s. But in real good setup, like a NHRA S/S or stocker etc, they usually use every bit of power.
I did 367" W2 motor for "mloboda" earlier this year, it "only" made 609? HP but ran 9.79 @ 136 @ 3020 weight already in summer air. That is just good working car that gets almost everything out of motor.... it's stick car, with high $ lightweight clutch/pressure plate/flywheel, so power losses are minimal & chassis works extremely well, not alot of wasted motion etc. If you put that motor in typical 3020# bracket car with a 727, 8% slip converter, leaf springs & 10" slick, it would probably run 10.20's @ 131-132.

did you not just read my post? Or the other countless topics we've had on this...
yes I did, hence my post. I do NOT read most of the bs that flies around here. In fact, I usually avoid these type of posts since there are a few on this board that believe anyone claiming more then 620hp is a liar.
FWIW, my old 422ci RIP made 741hp 635tq when first built. Now it was hurt when I bought it, melted heads and wore out vsprings, and possibly had a cam swap before I got it which could have robbed some of that power. Regardless, it was still one of the fastest smallblocks on this board. 600hp will not push you 150mph in the 1/4, I don't care what calculator you use. When I used to advertise "worlds fastest w5" most of you thought I was bragging, perhaps I was some. But what I really wanted was for others who had eclipsed my performance level to step up and post their combo's. Only 2 people in 8 months had claimed to go faster, I believe only one was credible. my
my little motor was often overlooked/disrespected yet sits up top on the fastest list.
SB412's Red Duster was faster than yours, I have seen them both run....412 all natural. Non tube chassis Duster in the 8's....

What measure is used for these calculators, the reason i ask is because i've just put my mph through the wallace calc and after i decided to put figures through from a pretty much stock 440 combo i had years ago. The flywheel hp came out at 295, this does not compare with the factory rated 375 and i would guess my old motor put out at least 25 hp more than stock. Mick
69 Dart GTS 440 mopar .590 cam, Edelbrock heads, 3200# best et 6.45, 106.78, 10.14, 132.88 mph, 1.47 60ft best 60ft 1.36
