Mega-man....some of us may not know who you are but I am pretty sure most of don't care anyway....The things you blurt out make no sense to any of us on here...the topic was high powered 59 deg sbm....then you bash talking about an 1800 lb go-cart or something of that matter....now as the topic was power I would bet my years salary that my edelbrock headed 59 degree sbm could twist the guts out of your W-whatever sbm......

Sounds good to me, lets see the both of you as they say, Put up or shut up!! And I have no dog in this fight.

I think i'm hearing some Armchair racers here?? Like they say give us some time-slips and all this insanity will stop. Why is this happening in the Race forum!?!?! FWIW Why is everybody always picking on Eric with the Haze? I have never once seen him talk about how fast his car is, although when running i'm shure it would kill most of the cars on this site

JonWantsaDusta...I think CBK did..read page two of this thread..Just couldnt help myself

Actually my comprehension skills are up to par with college standards thanks for your concern though. However you have given reason to the Technical writing class i'm taking right now. We're taught to write clear and concisely. It's part of my curriculum and I thought it was a waste of time but I can see it's so we don't end up like you.

Care to make any other personal jabs? I love making fools of people in front of crowds...

Yes I see you were talking about the low gear in your chevy trans. And indeed The Haze doesn't put up big 60 fts (1.2s actually) but it has run 8.0's @ 174... what'd your fiber-glass mega-turd run? Hell whats the best in your BBC motor on a stick?

Anyway back to the topic...

Ryan have you seen where the Moroso calculator is accurate through out the scale or does it have a window of accuracy?

Ryan is it any way to figure frontal drag? to go even farther with the calculator?

I'm sure it would take more HP to push my junk the same MPH it would take to push a Daytona or a Neon

My engine made 649HP on the dyno and made 580 HP at the wheels on a chassis dyno and it has gone 9.77 at 138MPH at 3100lbs.So where does that put my junk at?My car is a shoe box with wheels,no areodynamics.

70 Duster W8 motor.
1.29 60ft 5.79 1/8 at 120 mph

I have seen Jesse's car run and IMO it is one of the more impressive cars on this site. I would also bet he rarely sees DA's below 2500' where he runs. And just FYI the DA has a HUGE affect on MPH on a normally aspirated car.

I haven't weighed my car yet. I need to take it to the dump- they have a scale that must be certified by the CA Office of Weights & Measures. Anyone know offhand what a 68 Fury III weighs? 4-door, full interior, 383 w/ 727 & 8.75.

It ran a 14.63 @ 94 mph before I started replacing everything.

Thanks!

1968 Plymouth Fury III 4-Door: 12.79 @ 115, 60'- 1.93 (Hey... it's a Cruise ship... what do you expect?!) Famoso Raceway, 02/08

I'll second that. Jesse's Dart is a nice package, and really nothing too fancy, just a well planned out and assembled car.

OH yes it is!! I'd race you anytime Eric, it would be my pleasure. What trim would you prefer? Heads up? I think not, bracket, that would be fun, or your fav, class, that might work out well. Its just a game to me and I LOVE to play, like throwing darts or playing pool.

Doesn't look like turbo has the nads, I would even give him a car length just like on TV!!

ya dusta, armchair for sure.
I've probably logged more passes in the last 3 weeks then most of you do in 1 year.

OK... I know many are going to me over this but... I have a friend who had a W7 motor in his 1974 Dart Sport and he was making around 600HP according to the calculator. He took that same motor and put it in a 1984 Charger full chasis car and according to the calculator made 600HP. I am not convinced that below 150mph aerodynamics play as much of a roll as many might think as it relates to HP. I think it might help with ET but...

Has anyone else taken a motor out of one car and put it into another with ***NO*** changes to the motor? If so, what were the weights and MPH?

I have been reading this topic fairly closely, and I thought I would finally put my in. I really don't think weather conditions get factored in by people with their cars. I recall dynoing a few engines that make 30 -40hp less in the room, as compared to the std/corrected figures. As the end of the day, a dyno is a tool, and a std has to be followed, otherwise there will be no consistancy. If you start off with 550hp, and finish up with 595hp, you know you have made an extra 45hp.
Jesse's W5 engine is a good example, it showed 640plus on the dyno, and shows 630hp on the Moroso calculator.
At the end of the day though, it all comes down to how it runs down the track, leave the Dyno figures and flow numbers to the guy in his local bar, or at the track, who has nothing better to brag about.
AL...

I think it's put up or shut up really, and I cant put up...lol.

I also think Ryan wasnt trying to attack anyone, that was taken care of by the upstanding membership . It does make for some fun reading tho..

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.
