I've also used the 861 lifter. Both part numbers seem to work just fine in an unbushed Mopar block as long as the lobe lift isn't too high. If you are less than 0.450 lobe lift you should be fine.
I've told Comp a bunch of times that they should just use the AMC lifter which they already make as a pushrod oiling Mopar lifter but they don't listen.
Thanks AndyF. In this engine we are not really concerned with the pushrod oiling, but would like the oiled pin feature. Without spending the higher $ for Crower/Comp/Crane ones which have it. I know we could go to BAM lifters with this for the same money as the 861's/829-L combo. But the 861 weigh 136 grams versus 267 for the BAM 1009-16.
Or is the lifter weight not that critical?
