Pretty much. Don't forget the Ritter intake. 😎 It's almost disappointing that the engine idles so smooth and is so docile. It just doesn't sound like I think it should for as well as it performs.

Bad340fish, I'd love to bring it but truck won't pass tech there now. We were warned a month ago when it was there and a half sec slower. It only has a lap belt at the moment.😳 The motor is coming out to go in a caged RC Dakota for next year.

1.48 is its best 60ft so far. 1.52 is is the worst we have seen with the hemi. For comparison, the best the previous 360 mag ever produced was a 1.54...

Been watching a few of the engine builds on here , I knew the Gen3 was good but seeing track results Wow ! , it's giving me the itch to do something with the stock 6.1 in my Valiant , or sell it of and do a budget 5.7 like this one .
got a few questions if you dont mind . Did you replace the rod bolts , What's the converter flash to , Is your gearing optomised for the 1/8 , what you think it would do in the 1/4 .

We do have a really good 8" converter from Ultimate. We footbrake it and it flashes about 5k. As far as the gearing I don't know because we ran out of time to test. Previous 360 magnum engine liked a 4.30 gear. With it, we tried 4.10 & 4.56. Both were slower in 1/8 & 1/4. The engine has all of its original fasteners and bearings. I added a 6.1 oil pump for a little insurance. Checked a couple rod bearings and they looked perfect with 225k on them so I just bolted it back together and went with it. Haven't got to run 1/4 yet. I'm guessing 10.80s or better.

Did a little racing at MoKan yesterday with our 225k mile junkyard hemi resulting in shattering previous class ET and MPH records along with getting the win. It went 6.83 @98.3 mph in the 1/8 with a VERY basic engine combo in our 3100lb Ex cab Dakota. The lil hemi is nothing more than a stock 04 shortblock, wearing a pair of lightly touched up eagle heads, comp 273 cam, PAC springs, Ritter intake w/ 950 carb on 93 pump gas. This thing is a monster for what it is and put our previous 360 magnum power plant to shame. I must add that the 360 was pretty stout having almost 11/1 compression, ported 2.02 valve magnum R/T heads, 250@.050 SFT cam and Indy intake with the same carb. The 360 could only muster 7.18 @ 95mph. For those those that are on the fence about going gen III hemi, this should help sway some to take the leap. Sure glad we did! What are you using for headers?
