i wasted my time removing the inner springs. But it was wasted time well spent seeing as my cam and lifters didnt go flat.

I hear people say not to worry about the inner springs but the cam manufacturer demanded it. so i listened to him. Didnt take all that much time to do it either

Maybe you can just lease her out for a while to you get er finished. Plus, the faster you go, the better choice of women you get......just my experience.

well the crank was good so i got a set of billet main caps, studs and a girdle gonna throw new bearings and rings in it and call it a day. good point on the lease. but maybe just renting is even better just gotta make sure she takes a shower when she comes home

Glad you`re getting it going and when you figure out the issues you had and get the tune up right, it`s gonna fly.

so now you'll be doing the alignbore with the new caps. what did you find the problem(s) to be?

well i just finished clearancing the new heads for the 1.6 ratio. tommorow morning before sending the block out im gonna mock it up and make sure my pushrod leangth and clearaces are all proper. hopefully i will be ready to go heads up with your car. i need a little help from my bottle in the trunk though

yes after mock up tommorow the block will be align bored and honed as well as new cam bearings. the problem was pushrod interferance with the heads @ full lift i just finished clearancing the new heads and we will see how it mocks up tommorow morning.

You are aware that the block will need a line bore/hone
with your new caps

i picked up a set of the 440 source ctealth heads and did a little work to them. and the new custom camis .615 w 1.6 on the intake 275 dur .598 w 1.5 exhaust 270 duration 110 lobe sep and a set of hughes rockers

Why more duration on the intake? Just curious. I`ve been hearing good things about those heads and if you build it right, you might not need the juice to catch me. Good luck. If all goes well, I`ll be at fontucky this sunday to HOPEFULLY back up my 9-sec pass and get a new photo or two....or, blown the rear outta this thing trying.

i honestly have no idea why... i took the input i got from here on cam choice and the input i got from my local hotrod performace shop and rob from isky put them all togather and this is what i got.

actually sory i mis-posted here is the cam card
intake timing exhaust timing
duration 304 314
open 45 btdc 90 bdc
close 79 abdc 44 atdc
cam lift 365 373
valve lift .548 560
lash .024

overlap 89 deg
above checked at .020 lift

and im using a 1.6 intake rocker with a 1.5 exhaust

im also putting a motor plate in. im thinking about throwing in my 9" converter too.

I would do both if that vert is better for your new and improved combo. I love the motor plate...way better than mounts and looks cool and allows you to mount accessories to it.
