Yes, different switches for 68 and 69, different plug on the back.

69 is a one year only ignition. Its longer than the 68.Ive sold good used one with key and bezel for between 65 and 90 bucks.Tells you what they are worth.People must want OE more than new aftermarket.Rocky

thanks for the comparison pic nacho ! using the 68 switch may not be possible due to the length of the switch and the dash frame design ? if we think the dash is really the same I think is just about the opening difference in front and how "modifyable" is I don't have the facts, just thinking out loud but... why? if they are available for any year!

It's looks like the new ones from classic industries is just the switch without lock cyl and key so that would need to be purchased as well

I had to hang the switch below the dash because it would not fit through the hole. The old brain just doesn't work like it used to though...

it is interesting, but I think.... If you have to spend on an adaptor just to buy a cheaper switch and cylinder setup, why don't spend the money on the right part? meaning with this HOW MANY TIMES you have to buy the ign switch or cylinder to think on a future cheaper solution ?
just my 2 cents
