State of confusion
I called once to ask a few questions and it was my LAST call ever......it`s that "first impressions" thing and I stick to that. They`re not on to anything new or special in my opinion and don`t have anything I need.

from waaay back. I've been looking into some stuff recently that reminded me of this post, so I figured I'd bring it back up.

Anybody used Hughes' ported intakes that can pass on dyno and / or track results?

I think there may be a little confusion here regarding "ported intake manifolds" and "deep port match intake". Purchased a Victor340 from Hughes back in 07 and had it deep port matched as part of the purchase. Cost an additional $100 and they went in to the runners about 1 1/2 to 2" and that was all. What was strange was that I purchased a set of "bowl only" ported Iron Ram Magnum heads - "Intake runners were as cast". Not sure how they matched up the ported intake runners to the as cast head port runners. They did seem to line up pretty good though. Looking at the intake port work, the $100 was probably about right. Obviously, a fulley ported intake would be considerably more. I think some of the gains reported by Hughes are - optimistic

I haven't used any of their intakes yet but I used their heads on that 427 small-block. Their porting work was really nice. I think they made a big investment recently into the porting area with CNC capability and flow benches and such. I've been thinking about sending them an intake for a project that I have going. I'm sure they'll do a nice job on it.

BTT (again)... hoping for some feedback from the Hughes rep.

I just wish Hughes would answer their email...If they aren't going to reply, why have it.

Got a private tour of the place from Dave ( he musta got up on the right side of the bed that day ) about a year ago. He had to show me his CNC machine & flow bench and other engine building stuff. Actually, the place is about 75% wearhouse. The shop itself is pretty small, and I don't think they have the capability of a full fledged machine shop. Mostly just head work as it appeared to me. Clean though and well organized. Just curious - did you buy the 427 rotating assembly from Hughes?
