It should be some fun in the sun and moonlight. City airport will be making noise again with take offs of the four wheel kind.
See y'all there.

I'll have a black with white AREA51 Dodges shirt on. Come say hello.
Oh, and further more, y'all might see me along with staff helping out in organizing things in the hole if need be, being that I have some experience with that kind of stuff over the years. Hint, Hint...
DVW, going to miss you and your Son. We'll hang this Winter since I'm trying to get Hemi-itis to come along with me as well. He can talk. LOL. and he loves those early B's.
I'd also would love to meet some Chrysler engineering legends when I go again this Winter.

The Belv will be parked in the "show" area...I'll be roaming around somewhere sweating my butt off...

There is also a Car and Driver Cars and Coffee tomorrow AM at the M1 facility...I may swing by there before heading down to the airport.

All I can say guys is that this event was F-in amazing. Who ever was within striking distance or a little spooked about a poverty ridden neighborhood and didn't make the trek across town to support, well they missed out on one hell of a day at the street grudge races. I'll post some flicks when I settle in back in New York unless someone beats me to the breaking news footage.

Detroit racing teams are alive and swell and laying it down on the un-prepped surface with no fear.
Though the troops chose to use Dr. Pepper for the starting line VHT alternative where as I used to use stale dried up Pepsi, that stuff was getting some Topps chewing gum results under some of the tires. It made for some good old excitement and bitting nails type of racing.
Good night.

I saw some pictures of Tom Bailey trying to sort out his Sick 1.0 camaro in an empty parking lot. I am sure he put on a good show.

Unfortunately Bailey went up in smoke in the first round. Was a good showing, mix of old school and new cars, track and street cars. Many of the favorites were knocked out early. Sorry I missed you FMJ!

Yeah, I came over to your cool car and missed you by a few moments. I recognized it from your posts. Actually saw you leaving at the end of the event and it was too late since I was all the way up on the Dodge tower. That Red Hemi truck was INSANE.
Not much scares me in the hole, but I was afraid for lives, property and reputations when that thing did its burnout.
Pictures coming in a short while.

That's him and or they. Crew looked serious and out for blood. What a showing.
Everyone over at the Dodge the DODGE VIP suites and stages were shook and jaw dropped. Some ran into the dinning area in disbelief.

LOL, yup, he runs in the Heads Up series at Milan Dragway every month. He also ran in the 10.5 Outlaw class at Shakedown at the Summit at Norwalk last weekend. I saw a 4.19 @ 175 pass from him.

You can feel it in your whole body when that truck goes by. lol!

I saw you up at the starting line, but us common folk weren't allowed across the red tape, haha.

There were a few outlaw 10.5 cars, the "pornstar" rail that is always at the No ET events, Disco Dean in the "Stinky Pinky Too" challenger...the big tire final was Doc in his old school Chevelle against the "Big Poppa" turbo 1st gen Camaro. It was nice to see an all motor bracket car keeping up with a bunch of 4 digit horsepower chassis cars.

I was glad to see Dodge have a large supporting role. It fits with the whole image they are going after.

Who would have thought that these innocent looking trailer boxes strolling in the early gate would be ushering in a version of a Trojan horse surprise. Trojan HorsePOWER that is.

Then came the big surprise. I was looking for small tire/big tire 1000 HP brawlers and then this.
This was after all going to be a Golf cart grudge shootout. LOL.
My money was going to be on the little red one.

Then the arsenal started to rear its head. Out one by one, they exposed themselves from their comfy transporters.
Don't burn me at the stake fellas, There were some stout General Mills and everything in between out there with just a pinch of a few Mopars. It was those few Mopars that had the potential to take the gold home, but this was all in all a whole different game and Sheriff in town.

Brian O was one of the central organizers there and since I had no rolling dog in this fight, I can't speak for everyone there with a pair of wheels and cohones, but I felt that he held it down and was very concise and respectful to the racers needs and concerns.
By the way, my man on the left in the wheelchair was steering a very nasty Mustang all on his own. Very proud of his efforts behind the wheel. Reminded me of a good old friend of mine nicknamed "Ironside" that both turned wrenches and steering wheels back in the day.

The other Brian was the flagman or should I say Flash man. Flash light wars was alive and well here fellas and gals.
He was very good at getting them edged into the hole and cocked. Reminded me of some days and nights gone by.
