There might be a little White brick tagging along with us as well. Though, I highly suspect that we have no bite in this horsepower fight. Detroit area cars are no joke. The only defense we may have is getting bite all together on the track surface as an old school cat by the name of "DOC" showed 'em.

"DOC's" old school insurgent Chevelle. A lot of guys had the willies over this simple combo. I found lots of fingers nail shavings on the starting and finish line.

This was an event of historical significance. When was the last time you were at a Street race on airport grounds with the Chief of Police watching on and talking smack. This is real deal community policing and relations.
If this could only happen for Long Island.

All kiddin' aside, people this event was a hair raiser on each run. No prep is a no step in the right direction. Even if you are ahead or fender to fender, one or both cars will try to get drunk out there and it makes for some skills and thrills.

The surface started to get better after a few runs mainly with the help of more ambitious burnouts and some tar strips in the asphalt. It wasn't really China rock white concrete like our beloved 150th st. It was more like a combo of tar top grey and crete which is what I call dirty concrete. It did get a little greasier as you went out further into the abyss of the amen corner. Mid flight was hairy to say the least. I felt like I was piloting each and every car there.
I am going to sit down with the powers that be and lend in on some of my ideas to make it better and safer for everyone. Chevrolets and Fords included? LOL.

This was the VHT at hand by FAA rules. No diss to the Dr. but I like stale Pepsi without the fizzles left in it. Real syrupy when hot.
It was funny to see fizzling soda pop under the tires. Surreal.
