Chuck it up in a drill press and buff it down to size. Just keep checking
diameter.

I've got a pushrod story for ya:

Had a 440 in my car for a while, pulled it to build a Hemi. My brother got the 440, but I kept the fuel pump pushrod along with the front accessories. He rebuilt 440 with a Comp Cams pushrod, while I built my Hemi with the old factory pushrod. We both used the same Carter fuel pump, run the same VR1 oil, used the same Melling oil pump, both used a shelf Comp Cam, and broke in the cams the same way.

The Comp pushrod, after a couple thousand miles, eventually mushroomed to the point of not functioning. It is now stuck in the block, and he is running an electric pump.

The factory pushrod is still the same as when I put it in. It probably has about 85,000 miles on it between the 440 and the hemi.

You've been warned, run a factory pushrod.

Very true ^^ I think fast68plymouth was right in saying an oversize rod should have been labeled as such! I like dealing with Mancini, and will continue to do so, but some times a phone call for more info instead of quick internet purchasing may be in order.

I'm not sure if this is true of all Comp fuel pump pushrods, but I was told by the guy I deal with there that they are made by Trend.

So, it's not it came from some no name supplier.

Apparently getting the material/hardness just right so it doesn't wear out, and doesn't eat the cam eccentric is a secret.

And I stand behind previous statement about them being oversize. If that's true...... It's just dumb.

I took my stock push rod out, it was still good, my thinking was one from Trend would be better since all these failures of stock ones, I lubed up the one from Trend & it lasted 100 miles, I now have an electric pump.

I'll bet there was no plan to make them oversized. Just more aftermarket stuff that is junk.

and,"......size it with emery cloth.....", really?

My white board at work is where the office fun quotes land. One of my favorites from several years ago by my wife: ".....if it works, its a miracle...."
