Its an interesting topic for sure.

Some of the best admit to questioning what a good balance is, how can everyone use the 5 grams for oil?

I normally send a simple figure for the bearings and spiral locks on paper, some of the king bearings I use are 5 grams lighter then clevite, a single triple wound spiral lock is 2 grams heavier then a double wound.

But I always use the same number, I didnt realize this until very recently.

For me, who at times has the worst luck I just have things balanced because the $175 is better then pulling a motor down and doing it again.

It would be much worse to have to tell a paying customer I thought the balance would be ok and I will have your car another 2 weeks to a month.

If we all were not critics of others it would be nice to have a post on what some have gotten away with going against the norm.

28.35 grams = 1 oz.
