I believe FMJ is refering to the famous Silver Bullet not the movie Bullit.
x2. The Silver Bullet original car is owned by Harold Sullivan in the Detroit area. The original engine is owned by somebody Downriver if I remember correctly, and is installed in a Silver Bullet clone.

Is the Silver Bullet the Mustang TWO that was a top end road racer (start racing at a over 40 MPH roll on a freeway in Detroit featured in one of the mid 1970s magazines? 460 Ford powered is what I remember now, not a 351 Cleveland motor
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Saw on another site that Lisk's Challenger is on the block. Be a really cool piece of history to own. Link?

Who is Lisk? What year and type is the car and its history? Really, Cab? Didn't read Hot Rod much, I guess. J/K, Cab. I think Lisks Challenger started my dreams of owning an E-body. I second the notion that if I had won (or might still ) the lottery, that car would be mine. Wasn't Fons involved in a black Hemi Volare build after Lisks car that was quicker than the Challenger? The name Lisk didn't ring any bells for me, but I do remember that car.
I always thought that was a real cool car.

Tim Can't remember if fons was involved, But I think he was. The black volare, I think was also a hemi/lenco car. It was in several magazines also.

There may have been 2 Volares, or the one in question was rebuilt once. I remember the Van Smith '77 from Detroit, it was black with a bunch of purple anodized parts on it, was built by Steve Grebeck, and had a B1 motor in it with a lenco if I remember right.

The other black volare predates grebeck by at least 10 years. I think the other one had a gold anodized interior.

I always thought that was a real cool car. I also remember it well, IIRC, isn't this THE car that started the whole "Pro-Street" craze of the late 70's/early 80's?

Tim I lived in the Mojave desert and didn't buy any magazines until after I got out of the Army in 1968. I ended up later getting to know a lot of the SO CA drag racers that where partially sponsored by Mopar in drag racing including John Dieanna(SP?) Joe Alread, Bob Lambeck, Mike and dick Landy and so on through racing my M.W stocker in NHRA stock. I found out over the years that a lot of the writers for the car magazines didn't know the difference between a torque wrench and a camshaft Many false information stories that lead many of their readers to a lot of fustrations and repeating lies My message is I don't subscribe to any magazines now, hands on learning is way better than reading a article written by someone who is not a car guy

I witnessed Steve Lisk make a run at Milan Dragway back in the mid 1970's, he ran 9.70 @ 140 MPH...unlike todays "Grudge" racers his et was known to everyone. I think he was running some spray during that run as well. Cool car for sure!
