As far as sonic testing I use .140 final thickness average in three spots on both the minor and major thrust surfaces on the drag race motors I build up scope
I have sonic tested 400 lock that ended up thinner, .120 range, that where used in drag race motors making north of 700 HP with half filled blocks for a long time confused I wouldn't be scared of using those numbers on a mild street motor now with no fill up work
