I have fitted Hooker comp to auto and stick 440's.on my 68 satellite with 440 I had to clearance fully along top of the collector (driver side ) so it did not rest on torsion bar .
On the stick , had scatter shield if I remember was no issue but was 10 years ago .
Late last year I fitted a set of Hooker Comp to another 68 RRunner with 440 auto . Man did that need a lot of beating to clear driver side torsion bar and idler arm .
Never again will I bother with Hookers .
Plug access is average with Hookers as well .
I fitted Dougs D452 this year on new 505RB wow . The fit was great , no beating and easier to access plugs .
Seems the Hookers would fit better with a low deck , but after 40 plus years they should be better fit

I have two pair, both purchased used, inexpensively, with minor "issues". One pair was like 25 bucks...the collectors were butchered, and looked like (poop). I welded on new collectors, they look great now, there they sit. The other pair is on my gtx, I think I paid $100 for them off moparts and they had several issues I was able to repair pretty easily, then another $250 or so to have them professionally coated by QC coatings here locally...This was about 15 years ago. That coating has since failed and they have small rust spots now.

No you're not, you've always been cool around here and have a badass B body. I just wanted to point that material difference out to you in case you didn't notice. Alot of folks really dislike 18 gauge-5/16.

Here's the deal with my CPPA's. THIS year they developed a leak on the driverside. I can hear it as plain as day, but can't find the darn leak. I've replaced the flange gaskets and collector gaskets. It sounds like the #7 tube, but I can't narrow the noise down to what is leaking. The driverside is a pain in the butt to install or remove, especially with a stick car. I probably won't do anything til the winter when I put the car up on jacks and do my "winter projects" on it. Hopefully when I get the header off, I'll find what is leaking and be able to weld it up. Right now, I'm doing research on what header to buy, just in case I can't fix or find what is wrong.

Thanks for the kind words. It's good to know that you understand where I'm coming from. Thanks for the info too!

I could not get the 5209 to fit in my Charger (RB Block) and Edelbrock Heads. <1/16 inch to torsion bar on the passenger side and I would have had to smash the driver side to get it in. Gave up and ordered TTi and sold the Hookers.

You guys are scaring me! I bought a ceramic set to put in my 69 GTX with a 440. I have been runnimg the 5209's in my 67 Coronet for forever - on my second or third set in the car and it fits great in that car.

Would it help if cut the headers and dropped the collector some? I had to do that when I went with the SR heads with a RB in the Coronet. I do have a second set of new 5209s that are not ceramic coated.
